We will be leaving northern NJ around 2:00PM / 2:30 PM. There are 4 drivers. If we drive straight through (allowing about 1 hour for a dinner stop, and, of course various quick gas stops), what time can we expect to arrive at CBR the next day?

I'd say anywhere from 10:30 - 2:30 the next day. We drove from South Jersey and thought we'd make it to Georgia in 12 - 15 hours. (More like 12). We hit SOOOO much traffic we literally drove from 6am to about 10pm. We definitely could have done it quicker had there not been the bad traffic we experienced in Virginia. This was even past DC which I thought would be the worst! It also depends how fast you drive. My DH and DFather did most of the driving. My DH will do like 80-85 (I always yell at him) but my dad won't do more than 65-70. So there are lots of factors. We also hit traffic due to volume ut also a couple of pretty bad car accidents. So just factor in some buffers of time. Have a safe trip!!!!!!!!

We did this drive in December it took us about 20 hours split over two days. We hit a LOT of traffic. I would suggest getting a triptix if you have AAA. It will give you alternate routes for some of the busier spots.

We drive down twice a year from South Jersey, it's takes us about 18 hours with a half hour for lunch, and gas stops. We do it in 2 days 12 to 13 hours the first day, brings us to the St Marys GA. about 2 miles from the FL stateline. We do the remainder the second day. I have found that leaving early in the morning (between 4 and 5 AM) is better for avoiding the traffic, specially around the DC area!

Kim,
Leaving at 2-2:30pm puts you in DC in the middle of rush "hour", something you definately want to avoid!!!! It gets crazy between 4:30PM and 6:30-7PM. Figure on about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to DC.

Allow about 19-20 hours with very brief stops and hopefully no traffic and 65mph. That should get you there about 10am. By the way, any room in the trunk for me? I'll travel light!:D

Rush hour around baltimore is no picnic either. If it were me, I'd leave NJ later in the PM, so when you do reach balto/DC, rush hour will be gone.
And we're like OKW91--we leave PA. at 4:00 AM and are around DC by 6:00AM--.
Our straight thru time from Baltimore was just about 15 and 1/2 hours the 3 times we did that.

...cindala, you JUST GOT BACK from the "World" (now don't get greedy:cool: !!)

Uncleromulus-
Unfortunately, we are kinda "set" at leaving around 2/2:30 in the afternoon. I don't want to really leave later than that, because then we hit NYC traffic coming into NJ....besides, I can hardly wait THIS long to get to WDW, and you want me to extend this EXCRUCIATING agony further???!?!?!? We would leave earlier than that, but my DH runs his own business and he will be working till around noon, along with my DS-in-L, who is not taking a lunch hour and leaving her job earlier, too. Last year, when we drove to WDW, we left at 7:10 PM and arrived at DxL around 2:40 the next afternoon. I am concerned that if we leave later (to avoid the traffic) we will arrive later, and, as you know, you get checked into your room on a first-come-first serve basis. Since we are checking into CBR, I don't want to get "stuck" with Trinidad South....:(
