? about DL summer hours

We will be at DL August 23, staying for a few days. I noticed they have the hours for that time posted and are showing DL open from 8-11 and California Adventure open from 10-9. We are used to DW hours, which are usually shortened at this time of year, end of August, and I was just wondering if DL had longer hours because they always get more crowds than DW at that time of year. I know many of the schools in the south start mid August and therefore, attendence in DW is a little less at the end of August, whereas I believe some of the schools in the west start after Labor Day. Does anyone know if that is why DL is open until 11, because they always get many people? Again I am happy to see that DL stays open that late, but just wondering if it is because of the crowds. I know it will be crowded any time in the summer, but just wondering. Thanks for any opinions, input. You are all so helpful.

Disneyland is open until 11:00 or midnight on weekends all year because they have a large local AP base that comes to the park. During the summer they come everyday!!!

That's a really nice thing about DL. We like to go for long weekends at different times of the year and it's really nice to not have to worry about the hours.
When I visited WDW one year in August, I was shocked at how early the MK closed.

DLs summer hours are from mid june to Labor Day. They started summer hours about 2 weeks ago (as the lack of sleep has alreayd started). DLs summer hours are generally scheduled around when the local schools are in. The majority of local schools end begining to mid june and start back a few days before or the day after labor Day. It will be more crowded the end of august than it will in September, however you will also have less down for rehab. DL typcially starts there rehabs starting the Monday after Labor Day. With Haunted mansion generally going down right after Labor day (if not before) for it's makeover.

Goes down for 6 weeks or so to be changed into the "Nightmare Before Christams" version that lasts from before halloween to right after Christmas.
