I guess I should have ask if you had any problems using a family members disney rewards card

Nope. My son has one and I used his last summer when we were at WDW and it wasn't an issue at all.

I always give mine to my DS to use for snacks and souvenirs - never a problem. It's treated like a debit card, you get the balance left at the bottom of your receipt.

If you're worried about it why not buy a Disney GC with the leftover points? Then anybody could use it for sure ... that being said I've never had anybody ID me when I've used mine.
