Can you use disney dollars towards booking a trip??
I have a plan that for every holiday I'm going to tell people when they ask to just get me disney dollars. B4 I know it, I'll have enough to go on another trip :) I already have $100 lol

Not sure. ALl we did with our Disney dollars was give them to the kids to spend. It saved our budget -- gave them each a set number and when they were gone, the kids were done buying. Amazing how well it worked. They usually have the gimmes. Disney Dollars rock! (Hope you get a good answer to that quiestion. We had a few left and weren't sure whether to save them)

When you say for "booking a trip," I guess it depends how you book it. If you book a package, having Disney Dollars won't help you because the package must be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival. I don't think you want to put thousands of dollars in Disney Dollars in the mail, since that would be just like mailing cash.

If you book a room-only reservation, then absolutely YES, you can use your Disney Dollars at your resort's front desk to pay for your room and/or park tickets.

Just make sure you're comfy with the idea of carrying that much cash. With credit cards and debit cards and ATMs these days, I usually don't travel with more than maybe $300 or $400 cash (regular U.S. dollars), and end of spending very little of that, anyway. It's not like it was 10 or 15 years ago when I used cash and travelers checks for everything BUT my hotel bill while away on vacation.

An option these days is the Disney Gift Card, which can be bought online HERE, or at Disney Stores around the country. The cards can be added to and reloaded at any Disney Store (but not online), and they can be used to pay for stuff at Disney Stores, Disney parks and resorts at both WDW and DLR, and DisneyShoppingOnline. You can also use these cards to pay for vacation packages.

The cards are easier to carry than hundreds in Disney Dollars, and most importantly, they can be replaced if lost, as long as you have the original purchase reciept.

Any and Every Disney store will sell you disney dollars for a 1:1 exchange rate, there's no tax because it's a gift certificate and the tax is charged when you buy something with them

Ok, thanks. I think I knew that now that you meantion it :lmao: We are leaving for Disney today, :yay: :cheer2: :woohoo: :dancer: party: :jumping1: and I hope you all have a wonderful time when you go too.:cool1: :thumbsup2
