We are going to be there for 15 days, 14 nights. Just 2 of us, adult, and child who will turn 10 during the trip. I am on a strict diet and she has times she eats huge amounts and times she eats nothing. Both of us eat ever 2 to 3 hours. This will be the one and only time to do the deluxe because once she is 10 the price goes up. I scheduled most of our tabl services must be, over 4 months ago, and now I decided that yes we definately want to do this.

So here are my questions, which is mostly how to make the most of the plan? I got ressies at all buffets, not so much for the food, but manly for the break and for the characters, again within a year she will care less about them. I know most say they take an 1 1/2 hour but we never spent more than 3/4 to 1 hour. I did most at breakfast, with a few evenings.

Then I scheduled a dinner at the hot spots, all table meals, except BOG which some are QS. I also scheduled hoop Dee doo and spirit, because she wanted them, and cinderellas table for her birthday.

Ok, so I still have about 11 to schedule, and no we would not really do much with signature dining. Maybe I should look into it more, but the menus just don't say to me "have to have it". So if breakfast is about 7:30 or 8:00 and dinner is mainly at 5:00. So now I'm thinking I should have made the ressies at least 6:30, but I will never be able to move them. So do I use quick service in between, or do we try another table, even if we don't eat a lot for that meal. I also thought that maybe, we could just pay for someone else's meal here or there, and pass it along. Because we also have the snacks. My problem with quick meals is most will not be on my diet, unless I eat the kids meal and she eats the adult meal which we can do. Just help me figure out what would be the best way, also unless I cancel a lot, we will get our money's worth, maybe not the best but this is a fun trip that is without "grown ups" so no mom and dad or grandma and grandpa.

I also have a question about California girl, I booked it mainly for fireworks at 9:15 one night. We would not really eat that late, so I thought desert, should I just pay out of pocket, or cancel it?

We always do the deluxe plan and we usually do 3 meals per day at TS locations. That being said we usually do breakfast 7:30-8, Lunch around 12ish, and then dinner at 6. Since you have dinner schedule early I don't know how that would work out. Maybe you should try for the lighter table service meals at lunch for around a 11:30 time slot...a lot of table service places do have salads and such on the menu and or you can get lighter things as well. I believe also on the deluxe plan the points are pooled together so I believe you could order off the kids menu if you wanted to. The quick service locations are going to have your typical quick service foods, which might not be on your diet. I would book TS at lunch around 11:30 and and do the lighter restaurants

I was able to move a few of the dinners to 6 pm, so I will try for 11:30 or 12 for some table service lunch. Like I say we don't eat a lot, move for breaks and characters and fun. I think I'll look at a few table service at resorts, since we can pool hop, DVC, so maybe we can ride to a different resort, eat, check out pool. We will have a car this time also which is new For us.

We do deluxe and most days have 3 TS booked, around 8:00 - 8:30 for breakfast 12:30ish for lunch and 6:00 for dinner. Move what you can for dinners to a bit later, but you should be fine. You sound like how we use the deluxe plan, which is as much for the experience as it is the food and you just eat as much as you want and don't gorge out at every meal for the sake of "getting your moneys worth". I eat a lot of amazing food, but I rarely eat the entire portion and to me, that's the key to really doing well with the deluxe plan.

If you are considering resort dining and want to try signatures and are steak eaters, Yachtsman is one of our favourites!

Well, if you are booking mainly buffet some of the value is gone because you don't account for an appetizer. You would have the additional meal credits to work with though. I would not discount signature dining for dinner. There are several that we have been patronizing with our DGD since she was a sprout.

this is not strictly true. on DxDDP if you do only TS, each TS is valued at roughly $33 (maybe a buck more since the price went up). Most of the buffet dinners are more than $10 more than that, which is still a pretty good value. You can get apps and entrees at many places and come out south of the mid $40's which is where most character lunches and dinners are.

Thanks for your answers, I know we may not get every dime, but I think we will get a lot. Since she will be able to order adult meals at times, but pay for the child, since she will be 10 the day we leave so I only have to pay for her as a child. Also, buffets to us, gives us not onl food but characters, which saves us time from lines, and gives me a needed break. I was able to move some around and I'm still trying to get some dinners.

I know it came out spelled wrong but can anyone tell me about California grill. I booked a table for 9 one night, that is to late for dinner for us but we want to see the fireworks. Can I and should I just buy a desert and not use a credit, I think it's two credits, or should I just give it up. Also anyone know about tea room at Floridian, she really wants a tea party with just us for her birthday but it's not on plan either, is it worth paying out of pocket.
