? about decorating your campsite

My dh and I have been getting excited and definetely getting in the christmas spirit by going and buying all of the decorations for our campsite. But I was wondering do you leave your decorations lit while at the parks so when you come back from the parks you can enjoy walking to your site and seeing all the lights? Or do wait until you get back to your site to cut the everything on? My dh says wait, I say stay lit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most people we observed left theirs on, we also left ours on. You will see, if you have not been before at Christmas that a lot of people go all out with extensive decorations for everybody to see.

Compromise - take an outdoor light timer with you and set it for when it gets dark. You'll come back to a lit-up camsite and others will enjoy your lights without you having to rush back to turn them on.

Good Idea about the timer, I can't wait to see everyones decorations. It is definetley going to be a magical time for my dd13, ds10, and dd7mo.

Timer is great. That let's others enjoy it too when you're not there.

I'm usually lit before I get back anyway..... especiallly if we were in Epcot

Yea, I agree, we've done the outdoor timer idea for a few years, it's a great way to make sure the lights are on if you're not home when it gets dark.

I also agree with ntsammy that if I'm coming back from Epcot, chances are I'm already lit...lol

Hi. We have used timers for a few years now. It's great to come "Home" and see everything all lit up. I am so looking forward to seeing all the decorations this year.

Same here a dusk to dawn timer is what I use. However, I found you have to point the sensor "away" from the lights as they start blinking on and off if you don't. When the lights come on, it no longer thinks it's dusk, so they turn off, then it thinks it's dusk, so they turn back on. Vicious cycle!!!

Thats sounds frustrating!!! A numerical timer might serve better.

Ditto, that's what we have done in the past and will this year. Just remember to bring plenty of extension cords and wrap the outdoor weather exposed connections in some plastic for extra safety.

We leave ours on if we know we are coming back after dark. It is nice to see your site lit up when you come back in the evening.
