How is the character interaction? Do they come around to the tables or do they stand in a central spot?

When we went in Oct 03 for breakfast, Pooh stayed near the entrance and the rest went from table to table. For dinner, they all rotated.
We're going again for breakfast this October.

Hi-

We went Jan '04 and all the character came around with the exception of piglet, who will not circulate. Piglet does pose for pictures in front of a wall near the buffet.

have fun!

Thanks -

Why does Piglet not circulate?

Go to MCO - where in western MA are you?

hmm....Piglet came around last year when we had lunch there!!

I think they pick a different one to stand at the front and the rest rotate. I don't think it's the same all the time. This is a great way to start the day in MK!! The breakfast is very good and the characters are lovable. Don't go on an early entry morning. Go on a regular park opening day. Get the earliest PS available, we went at 8:05 am then have a nice breakfast with hardly anyone in the park. When the park opens at 9:00 you'll already be all the way to the end of Main Street and we were able to do the entire Fantasyland by 10:00 am. It was unbelievable....no wait for anything and this was July 6. Then we went over to Toon Town at 10:00 for the opening there and again, no waits.

We have been to the Crystal Palace at least four times and all of the characters circulated. From time to time there is dancing/congo line led by the characters that the kids can participate in.

When our DS was "Chef of the Day" that was the best character interaction we have had at any time at any park. He has been selected twice and our goal is to get our DD chosen in October.

My son was also selected "Chef of the Day" and I agree, they really make them feel special. It was definitely a pixie dust event.

How do the kids get picked for "Chef of the day"? My son would like this.

I think it's just random. We were the first family called in to the restaurant that morning though, so try to get the earliest PS available.

This is TOP SECRET!!! Well not anymore...

We have only done lunch at the Crystal Palace. We make a PS for the first time slot. Then on that day, we check-in at the Crystal Palace 30-45 minutes before our PS. We ask if our child can be the "Chef of the Day" and if someone else hasn't claimed it, you'll have a magical moment!:wizard: I don't know what the age limitations are but my DS was 4 & 6 when he was the Chef.

If you don't know what it is, Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore & Piglet help the Chef of the Day create a dessert. It is a Mickey brownie with whip cream and toppings.

Thanks for the help. This sounds like so much fun. What is the earliest PS that you can make?

At breakfast it's a Mickey shaped pancake that you decorate. They also give the child a hat that's decorated and signed by all the Pooh characters. They get a certificate with their name on it saying they were "Chef of the Day at the Crystal Palace". Magic.

The earliest you can make a PS is 90 days out. I think 11:30am is the earliest PS for lunch at the Crystal Palace. When you call just ask for the first time slot. The key is checking-in and asking to be the Chef of the Day before someone else does because there is only one Chef of the Day. Just remember, the more you smile and show your appreciation can only help get this perk!:D

Thanks YCFAN! I forgot about the Chef hat & certificate. They are great souvenirs!!!

Our trip last November we were eating a quick dinner at The liberty Inn and a young CM came over and asked our ds if he would like to help her in the kitchen. He did not know what to do he is pretty shy but she really got him going she gave him a little white jacket to wear and a chefs hat that said Liberty Inn junior chef and his name on it. She showed him around the kitchen and all the others in the back were asking him if they could have the rest of the night off:D He looked confused about that and they were laughing and saying hey your the boss now. It was so cute he had a huge smile on his face. She then brought him behind the counter and let him make his own ice cream. And then presented him with a certificate that said "This moment was certifiably magical" and it also says (and it so true) Across the miles and over the years, you'll always remember this magical moment from the walt disney world resort. Her name is Maribell and she is a sweetheart he has a picture of her and him and his certificate framed and his chefs hat on his shelf in his room. And I know he will always remember that dinner! :D
