How much do the Photopass pictures run? People keep talking about a cd!!! How much does one of those cost and how many pictures can you put on 1 cd!?!?! I know - might be silly question but I have no idea :confused3 and it's getting soooo close to my 1st disney trip!!! :) THANKS

We purchased our CD and it will hold hundreds of pictures for just over $100.00. You should get your photopass the first day you are at the parks and start having your pictures taken. By the end of your trip you will have alot, you don't have to buy the CD, but if you buy individual pictures they cost around $12.95 each. That adds up quick so I took my CD to Target and printed all the pictures I wanted for under $20.00 and it was 65 pictures. Every picture was good :)

I dont know if this is cheating or not, but when we got the photopass in 2005 I went to view them online when we got back from vacation. The ones I liked I dragged into my desktop and printed them out on my computer. I don't know if the system has changed, but thats how I did it in 2005.

Louey,

Can you clarify for me? What types of pictures do you get with PhotoPass (it's new since my last trip in 2001)? Are they all posed pictures in front of stuff (the castle, Spaceship Earth, etc.)? Do they include character pictures? I'm trying to decide whether I should save up for the CD when we go in October.

Thanks!
Beth

There are photographers almost everywhere you turn now at Disney and the first time they take your photo they give you a card and this will be the card you use for every other photo they take of you. They will be where the charatcers are, they will be in good photo locations (in front of the castle)...they are everywhere! In many cases they are holding samples of what your photo will look like - in some they superimpose tinkerbell or things like this. So then you go home after your trip and log in and look at your photos. You can make Christmas cards and everything out of them.

I would think you purchase the CD after you look at them and see if you like them. As for the drag and drop thing, we tried to manipulate these photos last year and Disney has made sure they are very hard to get at and save to your desktop. We couldn't figure it out.

I read on all ears that they were expecting to include ride pics in your photopass by end of 2006. Have they included them yet and how would they do that?

On Test Track you can get your photo added to PhotoPass. At the exit where you view your photo of the ride there is a place where you insert you PhotoPass card under the display of your picture and it adds it to your PhotoPass account. This is the only place I saw it used, that was on February 11.

It would be wonderful if they could have Splash Mountain added by the end of June. We made this the one place we definitely purchase the photo every year we visit.

My Kids and Husband went on the water rollercoaster at Typhoon Lagoon and got pictures on a photopass that she was able to wear around her wrist. We took it and had them add it to our card photopass. The photographers were even in the wave pool, you can have your pictures taken with or without the wave behind you. I am so glad we took advantage of this service, definately do it.

I can tell you for sure that you can not drag and drop your pics off of Photopass now... we went in 2006 (Jan) and I wiiiish we could've done that! lol! Friends of our family had done that also and we were disappointed that we could not when we returned home. Also, don't be confused by the actual picture CD and the CD slideshow. You can get a slideshow for $50 on the Photopass website when you view your pictures online and the slideshow is just the one file, you can not access your pictures on it. That being said, I think it is well worth it- we got a couple free pics from Disney Visa and our room package but wished we had come home with more. I think this year instead of spending any money on the photos in Disney we are just going to get our free ones and buy the CD. I would love to hear if the Splash Mountain pics can be put on??? That would be awesome! :cool1:

So for about 100 dollars, I will be handed a disk at the end of my stay that will have 100 pics or so on it, and I am free to take that disk home and get all the re-prints from that disk that I want? or are the only reprints I can get the 12.95 ones from Disney?

Basically the $13 is for Disney to print the pictures that you pick and give them to you. The $100 CD allows you to access ALL the pictures that would otherwise belong to Disney. When you get the pictures on the photopasses taken you can have them by purchasing them from Disney- either indivdually or buying them on the CD. You do not pay anything else after you buy the CD. You can put them on your computer, bring them to a store, anything you want to do with them because you paid the $100 for them to be yours!

We used photopass at DL a few weeks ago.

It is a great program but ONLY makes sense when you let them take your picture A LOT!

Get that card on day 1 and use it everyplace you can so that your "per photo" cost at the end is lower.

The CD is now like $125, so if you can get 100 photos over a 1 week trip, that would be a pretty good cost-per-photo.

Unfortunately on our DL trip, we took only 6-7 images on the pass. So to get the 2 that I really wanted, I had to pay $13 for each 5x7 that I will now have to scan myself when the hard copies arrive in the mail.

SO - photo pass is like the admission tickets,,,,,,a great deal the more days you are there! :)

I am going to have them put my pics and my 2 friends on one photopass cause they might not want it but I want pics of them so I can scrapbook them a little gift.

I actually had a bunch of photopass cards so they should have no problem putting them all on one account... just be sure to hand them all in at once. That is what we did. :)

So if I want to purchase the cd is that something I get while I'm there or do I have to order it online after I get home?

I believe you can do it either way, you will be able to view/purchase your photos or cd online up to 30 days. We bought ours while we were there, I am not sure if you purchase via internet that you would have to pay shipping?

Instead of buying the cd I made the book. You get twenty pages and up to 4 pictures on a page. You can add other pages for a charge and you can also upload pictures from your digita camera. The outside of the scrapbook is also very nice and personalized. I think its a good deal and you dont have to buy the pictures you dont like.
