? about Concierge making your PS's?

If the concierge make your dining PS's, will you get a better table or a great view???? :) Is ther a benefit to them making them versus you doing it yourself?
 
There are some benefits to the concierge making your PS's. They have the ability to get PS seating the may otherwise be unavailable. I was able to get Cinderella Breakfast through them for August without calling at 8:05. According to my concierge they have some special "concierge" reserved seatings and are able to pull them off for you at short notice. I also was able to get Chef Mickeys on a 5 day notice for a busy time in August.
 
Yes, sometimes they can get a table even when you can't. We've been trying to get a ps for the Crystal Palace for our May trip, but we waited too late. We wanted an 8am ps on a day the park opened at 9am. We've been calling for days and couldn't get anything earlier than 9:15! That's too late as we didn't want to cut into our park time. I sent back our concierge intenerary planning sheets and noted that we really wanted an 8am Crystal Palace ps on that day. I just got a call this afternoon - they got one for us!

They were able to get us all the PS we asked for at the times we requested; they also got us reservations for the Breathless Illuminations cruise :D We may have been able to get the same things on our own but with MUCH more effort/stress.......
 
The concierge got us "front row' table at Rose & Crown during busy July 4th weekend just a few weeks prior to our trip. I made many of my own PS but doubt I would have gotten this on my own.
 
There certainly was a benefit to me last October...I got the best seats in the house at California Grill and was there for Wishes and they got me CRT on a weeks' notice!! If you're staying concierge DEFINITELY have them make the PS for you - princess:
 
Not only can they get you many PS's without the hassle, but they can also help out in ways you never would imagine!!

We stayed AKL concierge last fall, and toward the end of our trip and our last day on the Hopper) went to Epcot for Illuminations....and got rained out!! We were re-living the story w/a CM at the concierge desk and she told us she was going to do something for us.

Next thing we knew, she had 1 day passes for our whole family for Epcot! Said she couldn't guarantee we would see the show, but it would give us one last chance. Also gave us passes to the "behind the ropes" seating in a wonderful viewing area. Yes, we got to see Illuminations like we never had before.

The magic lives!

BC concierge did the exact same thing for us two weeks ago!

Also, AKL concierge shipped all those stuffed dinos and artwork for us! I just stopped by their desk the night before we transferred to BC, and the CM took care of the shipping for us!

Do concierges only help those at concierge level?

I'm not an experienced traveler and have never been to WDW, so I honestly don't know.

We're staying at the Dolphin, booked at the Teacher's rate, with SPG points accrued well over the upgrade amount. We have view as an upgrade goal. I know we may be offered the Concierge level and that it has food perks.

Still, without it, should that be the case, it would be good to know if concierges help everyone or just people who have that level.

KIS....the Dolphin guest services are downstairs near check-in,
and THEY are great at helping you once you are there.

Oh, yes! In answering your question about concierge.
Concierge planning is only for concierge guests.
It's one of those extra perks!

This past September we were staying at Swan, friends were at GF and others at Boardwalk. We decided around 4:00 that we wanted to meet at Citrico's for dinner at 7:30. GF guests said they would make ps's. No luck at 7:30, had to be at 8:45. The BW concierge level guests then tried, nothin available at all! We went to Swan concierge desk and got table for 6 at 7:45! I know that each concierge (assuming they really are more than a desk sitter) spends time establishing a relationship with most of the restaurants. I also make it a point to meet the concierge on first day of stay. No gurantees at WDW that the same staff will be around but this time it worked.
I am sure that there is some kind of preferred list that WDW hotels are on, probably tiered from Deluxe thru Value and that certain concierge's get additional special treatment.

Are you referring to PS for this coming August at Cinderella's and Chef Mickeys? I thought I had to wait for those reservations until 90 days out. We are staying at the Poly LVC in July and I thought I still had time to hear from them to set up the PS. Does concierge have the ability to get reservations prior to them being released? I am vey confused and slightly paniced!

Not sure of the table or views, but I think it's great when concierge makes all the PS's! I called a couple weeks back and had Lauren set up a couple of meals for us. We wanted Hoop Dee Doo Review but it was booked solid. She called back today with an opening,,,yay! Saved me all the hassle of calling back every day.

We have had VERY good luck and wonderful service from the various concierge staffs.

We recently upgraded our June trip to GV Concierge at the Poly, and I contacted them via email, they took my credit card information, took my requests and looked up all the ps arrangements I had already made. They have been great! If you are approaching 90 days out or are beyond that I would email them right away with your information.
 
Has anyone counted on consierge to make a ps and then find out too late they failed to do it? That's what would make me nervous.
 
In my case, I did better than the concierge. I wanted an illuminations cruise andrequested assistance from the concierge as soon as we booked. Starting 90 days out, I checked with them every day for the first few days and no luck. I finally called Disney recreation last 2 days myself at 7:00 am. I got the cruise on day 2 of calling. I contacted the concierge just in case I ended up with 2 illuminations cruises - concierge told me she had no luck. Ditto with CRT for dinner before MVMCP - Concierge told me they couldnt get it - I called that same day and got exactly what I wanted. :confused: I don't know if I just happened to get someone who didn't try real hard or if I was just lucky when I called myself. That is the only time we stayed concierge and we basically did it because we got a great price and wanted to do the Sunrise Safari. I started to wonder if they knew that we got a great discount and they tried harder for rack rate guests. If we get a good price at AKL concierge again, we would take it because it is the only way to go on the AM or PM safari but if I really wanted a hard to get PS, I would try to get it myself too instead of counting on the concierge to get it for me.

We have stayed concierge on a least a dozen occasions and I always have them make PS. However, this did happen once that a requested PS was not made. We requested a PS at CRT and we thought it had been made (confirm sheet listing all PSs listed this item), so we showed up for the breakfast, only to find that we had no PS (I had not read the confirm sheet close enough - it listed the request, but not that the PS had been made). We ended up talking our way into that breakfast, but ever since then, I have had them make PS's, e-mail me the confirm sheet well ahead of our arrival and then I review it very closely to make sure that everything has been done properly.
 
I have had wonderful luck with various concierges making PS arrangements for me. I have gotten Cindy's breakfast, an Illuminations cruise, etc. I do contact the concierge pre-planning office right before the 90 day mark though (so my chances of getting my request are better). I also noticed that some restaurants' screens say "Polynesian concierge guest" (for example) next to your name on the screen. I don't know that I have gotten anything special for it, but I don't expect anything. I just love the convenience of having someone else make my PS's for me. :)
