? about changing our trip date

I posted this in the resort forum also but had no luck yet so I figured I'd try here too...

We currently have a ressie at ASMo for May 7- 17th 2006. I have come to the conclusion that we might have to move the trip up a week because of schedule conflicts with dh's work. We'd be changing to April 30th - May 10th, it's the same amount of time, same season, etc. Since it is a date change do we have to cancel our current ressie and make a new one or do we just call and modify the dates on the current ressie? How does that work? If we do have to cancel can we have the deposit amount just rolled over onto the new ressie?

I'm really nervous about changing the dates! I worry that we will get there and they won't find "us" in the system, like they will never change the dates and we'll be without accomodations. Any advice is welcome

We recently did this, and all we had to do was modify the dates. We had also modified the room type and there was no problem at all. We received a confirmation (actually a balance due) from Disney Travel - so if you have a balance due on your rooms, you will receive one that states the new dates. The reservations will also be visible through the "mydisney" portion of their website. I found it was updated within a day of when I made the change.
