? about cancelling x box live auto renewal & changing to prepaid card

Does anyone know the best way to go about this...my xbox live auto renewal was up in May but I previously had cxed that card. They have been unable to charge but I have been still getting service..I didn't realize they were sending me emails as it is an email address that I use for stores etc and i haven't looked at it in a while

Just found out you can get a prepaid card for Amazon for $12 less then what xbox charges on the auto renewal.

I would like to cancel auto renewal and then put in a prepaid card. Not sure how that would work..will they retroactive the prepaid card to May...will the system even let me do that.

I am sure they don't like prepaid cards as they lose money!

Speaking from experience, if you want to keep the same gamertag you will have to pay the charges. You can then tell them to stop the auto renewal and apply the prepaid card (make sure you have a couple days left on your xbox live membership). The year long prepaid is cheaper than 3 months than 3 months on the pay as you go.

Have you tried to access your account at www.xbox.com

Make sure to delete you credit card info out in your account settings there. I believe you can select prepaid there and enter that info to have it turned back on as prepay. I do all my account changes online at the above web address. Hope that helps.

I don't have a few days left..gold yrly membership expired in May but they have still kept in active even though I don't have that credit card for them to charge anymore..so I basically haven't paid since May

I just don't know if they will let me cancel the auto-renewal since it is past the renewal date??

They will let you go for a month or so as they keep trying to charge your cancelled card but then they will suspend your account. They will make you pay the charges they where unable to charge your card before unsuspending the account to add the new prepaid.
