If you get a campsite at Ft. Wilderness, do you qualify for the free dining pkg? I have a friend that loves to camp, and she has always wanted to take her kids to WDW, but can't afford it, so I was thinking that she could maybe go if she tent camped. TIA!!!! :cheer2:

I was wondering the same thing so I hope somebody knows the answer to this. It might also be better asked on the camping forum if not already noted. Thanks for asking a great question!

I probably should have posted on the camping board. If I can't find out on this one, I will re-post over there! :goodvibes

Someone said they had their travel agent check on free dining with the campsites and it is not available. But it can't hurt to check again!

I wonder why? I mean, it is a Disney resort. I would think that not including the campsites would be like not including standard rooms at another resort. I guess they would lose ALOT of $$'s on the plan if they included the campers in this deal. But I think that ALL the resorts and ALL types of accomodations should be included. :earsboy:

I have not heard of a free drink package but for $12.95 unlimited drinks at the campground. Hope this helps... :badpc:

Nope you can not get the free dining for the campsites. Only the cabins qualify for the free dining. I really tried to get the free dining package!! I ended up putting 2 of the adults on our campsite on my mom and dad's ressie at Pop Century. So now I am paying for 1 adult and 4 kids for the dining plan...still a good deal for the kids at $10/day!

I thought about why they would exclude the campers and my best guest would be because you can have up to 10 people ( 10 right?) on a campsite. There is not any rooms that you could have so many people at the price.

What if you don't want the free dining plan? What about if you are prepared to pay for it? Is it possible to purchase the dining plan if you are staying at the campgrounds? Anybody know?

Yes, you can get dining. You will have to do the "package". The package is your campsite, tickets and dining. I went through AAA and got my campsite 20% off in October, dining and tickets.

The Disney website allowed me to pay for the dining plan during the free dining plan promotion period at the campsites.

I didn't book it, but it did allow me to add it.

You know, that's a really good point! I saw one person booking a value resort just to get the food even though they have an offsite condo, so I wouldn't be surprised if people booked the cheapest campsite to get free meals. Even if you lived in the area but liked to eat at disney this could be a great deal. Or were staying in a house with a lot of people.

Oh well, it would have been nice to see the campsites included in this promo.

It is sad that the campsites are not in the program. When this program came out it just said "at a Disney resort." Well I was on the phone like a mad woman! Well then my balloon burst when they said the campsite are not included. If you stay at a perferred loop, the price is not that much different than the $77 value resort during value season. A horrible thought came to my mind!.....should we not stay at Fort Wilderness???? Well I could not bare that thought so I moved two of our adults onto my mom and dad's reservation at the POP. That leaves me and my 4 kids on the campsite reservation. Originally, It was me, DH, DSis and the 4 kids. If the campsites had free dining it would have saved us $1400!! What a dream! I would have lost the AAA discount on my site/room, tho, which about $100. I would have gladly taken the loss ! Now our dining is down to $700 and we still have the $100 saving from AAA. Anyway, I think they know how people might work the system and they draw the line on the situations that are worth it to them. I wish they would have just put a maximum number of people that could get free dining on the campsite. That would have been cool.
