In the Passport to Disney Wonder included in our cruise documents has a stamp over the customs & immigration page saying "Revised Please see insert" Well the insert makes the statement that only ORIGINAL birth certificates with the raised seal will be allowed. I haven't the foggiest where 4 of the 5 ORIGINALS needed are. My mom is in her 60's and she's never seen her original. We have the certified copies with the raised seal from our local health department that we used last year to embark.

Has anyone had any problems with DCL not accepting certified copies with the raised seal?

Thanks for your help,

My original birth certificate no longer had a raised seal that I could actually feel. I ordered a certified copy witha raised seal and they let me on the boat and back in the USA. I went on the July 20th cruise.

All four of ours were certified copies from three different states. They all were done different. We board and cruised just fine. We were on 7 day July 27th Magic.

Anne:)

Thanks to you both. I used them last year but it would be my luck that this year would be a problem. Thanks for your reassurance.

I think they mean the "original" BC you get from the State/County; not a photocopy you may make to keep the original safe at home.

I agree with Squiggle, that they probably mean that they will not accept photo copies at all...

I believe that a photocopy that has the raised seal though would be accepted..we cruised last year and my DH ordered his BC from Vitalccheck..they sent a photocopy with the State of Ohio raised seal...it also was stamped "Certified copy of the original"..we had no problems at all boarding...maybe someone else knows otherwise...

A CERTIFIED COPY with a RAISED SEAL is absolutely FINE. :)

I just got off the Wonder on Sunday and that is what I had and used it with no problems.

Just having gone thru the process of getting everyone's BC/Passports we were told none of us have the 'originals',
at least not in our state. They evidently are filed with the
state Vital Statistics at birth. When we ordered ours they
were all computer generated and stamped with the 'raised
seal' therefore are certified copies. In our case, they all look
alike no matter what year we were born in.

Thanks again everyone. I knew in my heart that they would be fine but my head kept thinking "what if..." LOL

certified copys with raised seals are fine what they dont want you to do is take your birth certificate and go to a copy machine and run off a copy of it.
