I'm not bashing, I'm just curious as to why someone would come to a vacation planning forum to discuss politics. I know the CB is for all topics (which I'm glad about, I've learned so much around here!) and I know the demise of the debate board has sent some political stuff over here but I guess I just don't get why THIS would be the forum of choice to discuss politics.

Not saying politics SHOULDN'T be discussed here, just wondering about how it all came to be and if the real political junkies have ever tried any other place to debate/discuss politics (and how they compare with the DIS). Not a debate, I'm honestly curious.

I guess sinec we all seem to talk about everything on here - it seems like it would only be natural to have political discussions as well

This particular election was so divisive that it seems as if you couldn't go anywhere without having to discuss it!

I am a political junkie but am so glad the election is over - it seems like so many are unwilling to accept the outcome of the election - I am afraid that the 2000 election has done a lot of harm to the trust of our electoral process and that it might be a while before everyone can fully trust the system again.
