Hi everyone, I am trting to decide when to book a cruise and I am thinking about the 4 day wonder that leaves on 10/31/04. However, my DD 10 is worried about missing trick or treat in our area. Does disney do anything on board for Halloween?I would think that they might and thought it would be fun to see everything. I also have a DS 8 and he's not worried at all ! This will be our first cruise so I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks everyone, I hope I can conbince her with your help!

In the past, the ship has had a Trick or Treat program for the kids. Also, on at least one cruise, I heard that the people from DisBoards organized a "private" trick or treat for their kids.

If you decide to go, email me and we can start the "private trick or treat" on the Wonder. I'm sure we can get many other Disers. In the past, Disers have always done a trick or treat on the Magic but I don't think anyone has started one on the Wonder. It's time to start!!! Disney does sponsor a trick or treat, but from what I've read, it is not very big.

We are booked on that cruise and my DD8 and DS5 are so excited that they are going to be on the cruise for Halloween. The more candy the better :earseek:

We did the GREATEST DIS TorT on the 10/26/02 Magic cruise. We had 20+ staterooms (tons of folks without kids had a blast buying stuff and handing it out), a treasure hunt/poem type TorT, etc. It was GREAT

We were very disappointed in the DCL TorT, imagine 2600 folks wandering from the lobby to Rockin D SLOWLY. And when you got to each stop, you got a few caramels or something. We gave it up after 2 stops and were so thankful we had done our own thing. From what I remember, the nighttime Halloween party/contest for adults was fun tho.

Last year we sailed on 11/1 so we organized a TorT party at the Radisson pool area. Again, a blast and about 18-22 kids came. We just handed stuff out, but the kids got a TON of cool stuff including those glow bracelets - a good time was had by all.

For help, orientaltrading.com has great things to buy (non-candy)

The DCL trick or treating didnt improve much this year. Us DISers aboard the Magic held a private TOT and had really GREAT participation! I was very glad that we did because DCL gave out 2 pieces of chocolate balls for 7 or 9 stops. I dont recall exactly. But it is a madhouse, hot and not worth it!

any tips from those of you who have done it on how to set it up and organize it? I would love to do this on the Wonder. If you have copies of the poem, or remember anything from the treasure hunt, would you mind passing it on to me?

thanks! Marley

marley, you have confused me a bit? What poem?
Do you have a thread yet, getting to know cruisers on your sailing? "GINGER" was in charge of our TOTing. When we finally met up, I know she said she wouldn't do it again, that it was very time consuming. TO put it simply, she basically asked who of us would be interested in doing our own TOTing. She kept a list of all our screennames, our kids names and ages and our stateroom numbers. She would keep that list current at least once a week, and every couple of days the closer we got to cruise time. She set a cut off date, like month prior to our sail date, if I recall correctly, that way we all had enough time to prepare our treat bags. Some DISers even went so far as to prepare different age group treat bags. My kids made out like rats! It was great! When it was all said and done we had to end up splitting our group into 2! It seemed we had 38 kids to fix a treat for! My kids did not miss TOTing at home at all. They felt they got better treats from my DIS friends! LOL
