It has recently been brought to my attention that the rates you are charged for a room are based upon the rates for the check-in day. We are planning for a trip 11/24 - 11/30, with the 24th being a higher rate and a lower rate starting on the 25th. I just priced things out and can save $225 if I do a one day ressie for the 24th and then a 2nd ressie for the 25th thru the 30th.

Can I make 2 seperate ressies?
How do I book it this way so that I won't have to change rooms?
We will need a package for one of them, which I'm guessing will have to go on the 1st ressie. I had wanted to add the DDP, would I still be able to do this for the entire stay?

TIA

Yes you can do 2 seperate reservations

no guarantees. You might have to change rooms or you might not. Ask at the front desk when you check in. they may be able for you to kept the same room. but you will still need to recheck in.

no, the second reservations. You can't do DDP expect for your stay at your resort on that reservation. Your stay for the first one is one day. you stay for the last one is the entire time.

just don't go the parks for your first day - and just pay cash for what you will eat.

to get DDP you must buy WDW tickets at the same time.

I'v alwasy booked my through a TA, one time they had Disney show the 2nd reservation as a continuing reservation and the other other time I told the CM at check in and they noted it at that time. Then the on your first check out day, you just go to the front desk and they can check you back into your "dirty room " ;) (as the CM told me one time since they have to "trick" the computer) and issue you new key cards.

It depends on what you want to do. IMO you could make the first night a 1 night package (if they let you do that, I do not know if they require a min.) and then the remainder of your nights at the lower hotel rate with another package. Or do a room only the first night and pay OOP for meals that day as the previous poster suggests then start the package on the 2nd reservation.

Hope this helps.
