I received the following today in my DIS Updates newsletter:
Dining reservations can now be updated online
Existing dining reservations can now be modified up to 20 minutes prior to the reservation time. This cannot be done on the My Disney Experience app at this time and must be done at mydisneyexperience.com. You can change the date, time and party size, but cannot change the restaurant.
Has anyone attempted this? Excited to see how it works as it might help us with a potential dilemma.
We are hoping to go to Disney in September with my brother, SIL and their family but with the awful Canadian dollar neither of us are sure if we'll be able to justify (or afford) the cost this year as the exchange will add approx 25% more to our trip than what we paid last year. That quickly adds up.
How this comes into play with the dining plan is that we often book dining reservations for 6 people but this year the group may go down to either 2 or 4 people depending on who does/does not go.
I'm hoping this new change option on the MyDisneyExperience website will offer us the option to decrease our party size if necessary without losing the original reservation. If it works out that way it will be a great improvement to their site!
Hoping to hear from some who have attempted to make changes to places where dining reservations are pretty much full for your dates. Were you able to make the required changes?
