Does anyone have any experience with the Abercrombie kids clothes? We do not have a store around us so I need to order online. DD10 is about 5' and 85lbs. She is slim but very muscular since she is an athlete. She normally wears 12 slim pants and 14 tops (for length) at Justice. According to the website I would order her a large in shirts but I have always found size charts to be off and need to order a bigger size. Any advice or comments are welcome, thanks!

I've only bought boy clothes there, but I agree, the shirts are not roomy. I have to go up a size for DS.

I agree, our older dd is skinny mini, yet their tops always fit her just right if we buy her "age" size. Everyone else, Justice, Children's PLace etc she wears a sz 10, but she's 11 1/2.

When I buy Abercrombie for my DS (13) I find they run true to size in the sweatshirts, snug in the Ts and generous in the shorts (I've never ordered pants - I figure if I blow the budget on abercrombie shirts I can make him suffer with Arizona Jeans). DS is on the husky side at 5'1" 130 lbs and wears a Boys 16/XL or men's small; which I try to avoid because of the price difference between the adult and kids clothes. He also wears a men's small at Hollister or AE Outfitters.

The girl's clothing always looks snug to me so I'd order up a size especially if you want her to grow into it.

Make sure to check the sale section there are always some good buys there.

I would definitely go up a size or two. All of the Abercrombie brands run really small and tight! Even the "adult" sizes are pretty tiny.

The jeans/pants run small as well. Also, most of their bottoms seem to suffer from VBS (visible buttcrack syndrome!) My youngest still fits in them but refuses to wear them!

I too would probably suggest an Adult Small from Abercrombie & Fitch over a kids large....the girls shirts are always kinda snug

Thank you for all the great comments! I am going to try to order her XL for now. Like a PP mentioned, I want to try to stay in kids to save a couple $$$. She wears an XS in adults at Abercrombie so hopefully there will not be much difference. Thanks again!

I work for Abercrombie kids :goodvibes

Your daughter is the same height and around the same weight as myself. I wear a size 14 in their jeans, but honestly sometimes it depends on the style of jeans you are buying. I believe that maddy, hailey, and mackenzie run around the same sizes but if your daughter wanted the super skinny or (god help you) the legging jeans you might want to reconsider the size as they run awfully tight... As for shirts it honestly depends on that specific shirt! We have the classic sweaters, t-shirts, sweatshirts in which I would wear a Large or Extra Large, but there are different styles of shirts such as the flannel shirts, scoop neck shirts, longer cut shirts, and even some sweaters that go over things that really run larger. If you have anything specific you wanted to buy her I'd be happy to tell you what size I would buy. I know it is said that abercrombie usually runs small but with some of our newer styles some things just look way to big in a size you would normally buy. Anyways, If you have any questions just send me a PM. I am more then happy to help! :goodvibes

( If you didn't know if a size doesn't fit you can return it to any of your local A&F retail stores. It doesn't have to be an abercrombie store. )

Oh, and what you probably consider "slim" that store considers "XL"
