ABD Backstage Magic - Summer 2010 Edition!

We're booked for the WOC dining package at Ariel's Grotto. We have at 7:20 reservation for 9 adults (under my name: Christy Nasworthy). We'll receive our WOC tickets after the meal. I asked about location (avoiding the heat and water) and was told that we would be able to pick our spot. He suggested we get there at 10:00 to get a good spot for the 10:15 show. I would think earlier but we can play it by ear.

I did not receive any type of confirmation number. Is that normal for Disneyland dining? I'm so used to WDW and having multiple confirmation numbers to keep up with...

Thanks Christy for setting this up. Glad that we have a reservation to ensure that we will get to see WOC.

Just got my magic box of goodies, now just have to wait till Mike gets home to open it and then off to show #6

P.S. Thanks Christy for setting up WOD PS. I cant wait

Christy, okay, what is an E-Ticket. I mean I know the ones from the old ticket books (still have a few of those), but the one that you and Lisa are considering from DLR. Also, I think my husband and I are the ones missing from your list? I guess I missed a couple of pages in this thread (is that what this is called?) I was slow to post, just not real familiar with how this works. I am Luce' and my husband is Stew. We are from Bend, Oregon, and this is the first Disney group thing I've ever talked him into. Looking forward to meeting everyone, but I suspect we are a great deal older than most and may not keep up!

Anne: What time are your reservations at the Trattoria? Anywhere around 6:50? And are you guys going to organize a "rope drop" meet for Toy Story on Friday? If so, count Stew and I in. I'm getting pretty good for one of those old ladies (red hair, tho'). Actually, I'm only a year older than you guys, but my hubby is 15 years older than me. We've been first on TS at WDW. Now try that!! Actually, you'd be surprised at how scared youngsters are to trip an ol' lady!

We received our ABD package today. Shipments eventually get to north WI.
We made our WOC dinner res at WCT since Anne is allergic to seafood and the menu has better options for her there. We knew someone who ate there recently and said the food was good. She attended the ABD chat, her first, last Thurs while I was coming home from work. She went a a 15 quilt store shop hop in WI, MI and MN over the last 2 weeks. I did do the driving for some, a total of 500 miles, five quilt stores in two states on Thursday the 17th. I will appreciate someone else doing the driving on our adventure. Looking forward to seeing you in CA.

Thanks Christy. Now we know we will be able to see WOC. I can hardly wait. Sometimes I just want to 'scream' in excitement.

Hi Luce', don't worry...I think we are about the same age. Birthdays are better when you have them at WDW. That is what I am going to do in September.

Okay, then Alan, what time are your ressies at WCT? And was Anne collecting individual squares at each quilt store? I have a quilter friend who has me do that for her for some yearly thing quilters do. Anyway, what about Midway Mania on Friday? Is it a go? Stew and I ate at both restaurants in the last half year, and have eaten at the Trattoria many times. Unless it changed since it closed earlier for refurbishment (read: raise menu prices), I think it's quite good for park food. Since it's a prix fixe menu, the choices will be limited, but, hey, we're actually buying priority seating (standing)!

Pam, in my lifetime, I have never been able to celebrate a b'day at a Disney park. But, I bet you're gonna have a great time in Sept. We did our Anniversary in May at WDW, got and wore the buttons, and did we get the food loot! Desserts flying everywhere! And cast members and guests constantly wishing us a happy one and asking how many years. So be prepared. It's a magical thing!

Luce': E-Ticket is an app for the iPhone. There are two E-Ticket apps...one for WDW and one for DLR. It contains many useful tools such as maps, park hours, etc. I use it most often to easily read/post on the boards using my phone.

Kristen: Can you add Luce' and Stew to the list in your original post?

Thanks!!

Haven't phone numbers always shown up on a person's info page (if they had added them to their info)? Is this just an easier way to see them??

no it use to hide it defaultly, now they changed the user policy that it will automatically show it if you don't change your profile settings.

By the way...

Is anyone (other than Pete & Walter) extending the Disneyland portion of their trip??

I'll be in the Parks Friday evening through Sunday afternoon and would love to meet up with any DISers that are still around.

How long is everyone going to be there? I'm going on my DLR trip (I won from the show) August 5-10.

I'll only be there for the length of the trip (arriving on Sunday the 25th and leaving on Friday the 30th). I'll be around for a while on Friday. My flight is not until 4:50.

Thanks for making the ADR Christy - very excited about seeing WOC!

I've added Luce' and Stew to the front page - any other lurkers that need to be added?

My neighbor has my box - we are still away till next week - can't wait to see what's in it!!

I am leaving Saturday night so I don't mind meeting up to visit the parks. Anyone else arriving early?
