ABD Backstage Magic 7/31 - 8/5/11

Interesting. Good thing I didn't book my air yet. I need to do that soon though. :)

Hi Folks,

I dont know how many of you know what has been going on during the last two weeks, but I have some information to share.

Approximately 2 weeks ago, someone on the ABD Board asked if the ticket included in the BSM Adventure was a three or a four day ticket. After some discussion , it was pointed out that the ABD website stated a 3 day ticket.

After several phone calls where I was told it was a 4 day ticket, someone finally checked and I was told that it would be a three day ticket.

I have made phone calls, complained to anyone that will listen and written a letter.

I am happy to say that I got a call from Disney / ABD letting me know that everyone traveling on a 2011 Backstage Magic Adventure will definitely receive a 4 day park hopper ticket as part of the package.

There is a small change and it might affect some of you.

ABD has changed their policy regarding transfers on the day of departure.

As of now, the final transfer from the Disneyland Resort to the airport on the last day of the Adventure, will be at 4:00pm.

ABD asks that your departing flight be no later than 7:00pm.

I realize that some of you have already booked airfare based on old information.

If this is the case and you have questions or concerns, please email me at Kevin@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for letting us know, Kevin! Am I correct in guessing that the change doesn't affect those of us who are adding extra days to our trip, outside of the ABD offering? We have to get our own transfer back anyway, I believe. Do we get the transfers from LAX to the Hollywood hotel if we're arriving on the "proper" day, even if we're leaving later?

This change only affects those departing on the last day of the Adventure and using ABD transfers for their return trip to the airport.

Transfers on the first day of the Adventure are not affected.

Good morning all,
Disney Bruin (Glenn) and myself Olive Oil (Patricia) are officially delurking after lurking as we have for so long I am delurking to let you all know how excited we are about joining you for the ABD trip to Hollywood/Disneyland. We recently relocated from California to New Mexico and miss going to Disneyland weekly (really) at least we are now closer to Disney World.:)

Take Care all!:cool1:

So just to be clear - SaraMC and I are coming in a day early (due to flight times coming from central and eastern Canada) and leaving a day later than the BSM trip. Does this mean that we are responsible for our own transfers between LAX and the airport? :confused3

I got trump. Filing and audit prep. Snoorsville

I dunno - I was in a 2 hour meeting for university administrators on how to deal with disruptive students. The main presenter had this monotone speaking style that could knock out an elephant. :rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2
The only thing that kept me awake was the engineering students having some sort of parade/marching band contest in the atrium....

Well today is officially my mini weekend ( yes I know its tuesday) but I work every other weekend so I live for my tuesday's off. I felt like I was getting sick. hmmm two weeks after kids go back to school.. hmmm ds has had a cold and now dd. So since everyone was away.
I SLEPT!
It was great!

Ive done nothing I planned to do today, its also become rather warm here again. But its supposed to turn cold and rainy. Yahoo.

This weekend, the kids are being watched by my mom, we are heading into Toronto to spend time with my cousin and celebrate our 9th Wedding anniversary.
Im also starting to plan out for our feb trip for the kids. Trying to get some things for them for warmer weather in FL that will fit them then. Lots of summer stuff on sale. Just trying to predict how much they will grow.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SEESTER!!! :cheer2:

Speaking of Feb - WestJet changed our flight times so we should be in Orlando 45 min sooner than originally thought (6:16 instead of 7:01). This 'should' translate into about the same earlier to The World too...

I think there was something planned...might we make it now? Fireworks or a show or something?

Hi Everyone!

How are you all? I was just on the ABD forum here on the DIS and got even more excited for our adventure. How about you?

I think it would be neat if we could organize some of the ideas that have popped up in chat recently: mini-meets pre or post cruise, exchanges, etc. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone! I was on the April BSM trip, and I've just finished my scrapbook and thought I would share it with you all. There are pages of things we did on our own time and our own dime. So if you're wondering if the trip goes to Sunnydale and by the Charmed house, it doesn't! :rotfl: Ours also did not go to Giffith Park to see Walt's Merry Go Round, so you would have to do that on your own too.

There are SPOILERS in here folks, so don't click the link if you don't want to see them.

I hope you all have as much fun and magic as we did! :grouphug:

thanks Lauren for sharing! :flower3: What a fantastic scrapbook! It makes me wish it was August 2011 even more.

Thanks for the info, Kevin! Apparently, I'm not -- as my fifth grade teacher used to say -- being a critical thinker about this trip. It never even occurred to me to wonder about the pass. Four days does sound much better than three, though!

And I'm staggered that some of you have already booked airfare. Very impressive.

My preparation for the ABD trip has basically involved giving Kevin my credit card number and occassionally breaking into a happy dance when something reminds me of the trip. I obviously need to get myself in gear here...

I haven't made it into chat...what kinds of ideas are people talking about? :)

I'm just a few pages in and I had to come back to tell you that it's amazing!! I've never seen anything so well put together online. You are incredibly artistic - and clearly very patient.

I'm in awe.

Hi all, (finally) I'm now back from my fabulous trip to Disney and am keen to start the planning on this one - heck I've been home 36 hours so I'm well behind schedule :rotfl2:

Just trying to decide whether to fly into SF and out of LAX or LAX return and drive to SF and maybe fly or train back to LA... big decisions and I'm not sure how long the special on airfares that Air New Zealand are running at the moment will last... I need to make up my mind soon!

I am a little disappointed that ABD are saying the last transfer for the day is 4pm - the first flight to New Zealand that day is 9.30pm, though I suppose if it takes an hour to get to the airport and we are supposed to check in 3 hours before then it only about 1.5 hours to kill... but man is LAX a boring airport to hang out in for that long!

In terms of extra activities - I'm definitely keen for a chocolate bar exchange ;)

Paula

As you know Im soooo in for a Chocolate Bar exchange. Infact its become quite the topic here of all the diffrent types of " Canadian Chocolate". etc I should bring/send ahead. Of course with some sugar free stuff if Pete would like to participate as well.

Should I start stocking up on Canadian Reese stuff as it does taste diffrent than the american counterpart.
