ABD Backstage Magic 2/20 - 2/25/11 *** Close to Selling Out***

Been on my to do list for a while. Don't know why I was procrastinating. All this planning stresses me out. I go to WDW 4-5 times a year so I sort of just show up now. Not used to trips I have to plan for anymore. Very excited!!!

Booked mine a few weeks ago. I think the Universal VIP Tour is going to be a great start to this amazing trip.

I received my package today, woo-hoo. It's getting closer!!!!!!

We didn't receive our package yesterday. Maybe it takes longer to get to California.

Five seconds didn't pass after I posted this message that the doorbell rang and an Adventures by Disney package was on our front porch!

Today is our Disney mail day! This afternoon we received our 2011-2012 points catalogue from the Disney Vacation Club.

Mine arrived yesterday, it seems, but the building concierge didn't let me know until today ...

Some very nice touches!

Ready to get home and see if mine arrived today. I feel a bit under the weather and a nice package waiting at home would brighten my day.

I hope you feel better! I'm pretty sure the package will cheer you up.

Carol was reading the booklet. Are we really limited to one suitcase and one carry-on? What about the steamer trunk I was going to bring for all of my treasures from Mickey's of Glendale? :wizard:

P.S. I'm not kidding. :smickey:

Thank you Michael. I have my DD scheduled for a new patient visit with my general practitioner tomorrow. If I still don't feel well I will ask him to test me for the flu. I had the shot earlier this fall so if it is the flu at least it should be mild. Fingers crossed that it's just a cold.

My package arrived today. :thumbsup2 I pretty much opened it and crawled into bed so I haven't read any of the information yet. Will try to do that tomorrow. I have a backpack about that size that I was going to use as my carry on for the plane...guess I'll use the ABD one instead. Does that make me a nerd? :confused3

Hope everyone is having a good day. It is extremely cold here. But at least it's not snowing like so many people are getting hit with.

Does using your ABD Backpack make you a nerd? Not at all! Of course, this comes from someone who now has three Disney backpacks and Disney luggage.

The backpack is very cool!

I've spent a good deal of the winter on antibiotics for sinus infections. I hope you recover quickly!

There was a thread on the main podcast board that got me thinking...

Do we have anyone bringing children on our ABD trip? Was just curious. For some reason I was assuming we were all adults.

Please don't think I dislike children, I have one! Just curious about the makeup of our traveling group.

Does this mean we'll be on a "backpacking" tour? I never thought I'd "rough it" in California. LOL

Did everyone get a green backpack?

The February Adventure is currently all adults, but kids are welcome to join us....if they have a credit card.;)

Cathy and I received "lovely" brown lap top bags, probably because we are second time around on ABD.

It is nice to receive something different, I wonder if ABD does that for every new trip you take.

Speaking of laptops and iPads, etc ...

What is the wi-fi situation at the Renaissance?

At the Disneyland Hotel, I rememember adequate wi-fi service in the rooms. Is it similar at the Grand Californian?

I'm sorry we didn't get to say good night to everyone in chat. Carol and I got booted out and by the time we logged back in everyone else was gone!

We'll "see" you next week!

Michael

I figure Michael might need some extra cargo space :rotfl2:

I posted this on the London/Paris thread, but since we will all have bag allowances I thought this might be good for all of us.

If ya'll are perplexed as I am about finding the right travel bag to take to Europe, Travel Pro has their rolling duffels on sale in the outlet store. TravelPro is what Pete uses and he has talked about them on the show. I have been a die-hard Eagle Creek Bag user, But I think we may pick up two of these.

I travel quite a bit and love briggs and riley suitcasts. I am sure it is like religion and politics and WDW podcasts - everyone likes their own. Just wanted to pass on my favorite. I have about 6 bags, beat the snot out of them. Used their unconditional no questions warrentee. Got my bad fixed in a week.
