ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Liesa - your writing is getting better and better - and that is saying a lot because I would have bought books from you before now!

This is my favorite part...."I won’t leave you with a bunch of blurry, sad attempts at the show, but instead try to paint a picture of the pure awe Mom and Aunt Cherrie were in. They sat/stood there utterly amazed at the beauty of what they were seeing in the sky and on the castle and on the children’s faces all around us. They could hardly believe that such an remarkable show could exist and be transformed by the music, light show and general scent of Main Street.Like the young ones nearby their faces were carved with wonder and delight at each colorful explosion, and yes, my friends, there were teary eyes and full, content hearts."

Great job, Liesa!!! Awesome job!

Wow- that is crazy stuff. I'm so sorry for they young lady who was caught in the fray. I hope she can get justice quickly. You did the right thing, Mary, even if it is painful now.

me too!

Maroo you did a great thing even if it's hard now. That's got to be hard on the lady who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hope things go swiftly for her.

me too!

Thanks for the support, my friends.

Mary, That article is incredible. You did the right thing, and hopefully the woman caught in the fray can work something out with the prosecution to show that she was helping in the end.

Thanks for being brave enough to report and follow through with this and prevent others from receiving substandard care.

Hugs to you Maroo! Thanks for being a voice for those who needed one. I read the article and was struck by the comment that "the patients were just as much a victim as the government". Seriously? I would argue that they were much more victimized...after all it as their health and well being being compromised. The government just was taken for money.

I hope your friend comes through this ok.

Maroo - Welcome Back! It sounds like your life has gotten a litte "too" interesting.

L - your update was so fun. I continue to enjoy all your pictures from DL because SOMEDAY I am going to get there. :thumbsup2

Hey!! We actually decided to reschedule the trip, just to much going on to be able to leave for a week before the kids birthday party, school orientations and starting school (which went great!!!). We're going now Oct 21 - 26 and doing the Halloween Party. We've never done it before so I'm really looking forward to it. My mom is still going to be coming with us and she's just as excitied as we are.

I ran in to her at the fair today and she told me. She is very excited!:banana:

Loved the pix of DSL and Winnie the Pooh !! Food looked Yummy too!!

Mary welcome back. Good for you standing up fo what is right !!!

Psst.... :wave2:

I'm so behind that I didn't know Maroo took a DIS hiatus and this report, which I could have sworn started in Disney World is now somehow in Disney Land. Oh, I am confuzzled. :scratchin

Hi, ladies!!! :goodvibes

I ran in to her at the fair today and she told me. She is very excited!:banana:

She called me and told me "I ran into your Disney friend today." I could help but start laughing cuz I knew exactly who she was talking about. We've had another change in plans, we're now going Oct 14- 19. Couldn't let our DS miss out on Science day at school. But we are still doing the halloween party and my mom and I are going to take my DD to Ariel's Grotto for the Princesses while my DH takes our 4 year old son on anything and everything he wants to ride. So it'll be fun for some girl time (oh yeah we'll have the baby with us, poor boy is going to get all the love from the Princesses!!)

I think the boys kind of like the attention from the Princesses, but don't want to admit it!:goodvibes

Oh, more Taters! They seem to flock to O’Patty very quickly! No matter how big how small or how barker-ish they are. Maybe I’ll have to buy one of those barker-ish ones, they seem interesting. And glad to see Tate O’Patty got himself a new nose, a much better job than MJ’s ;)

He's quite a man of the moment. Always ready for a good time, and the leader of a crowd!

Oooooo… Ghirardelli! You guys definitely are on the right track and all your sundaes look delicious and HUGE! I haven’t really been able to check out the Ice Cream shop side of the place, enjoying the free samples on the other end… Mmmmm… :goodvibes Free is always better haha

Yes, my motto in life: Free is good; free with chocolate is better! Sounds like the best of both worlds right there!

Oh wow, you definitely got through a lot of “shopping” done even with the little Florida rainstorm. And the shop Tate thought was World of Sports is actually Team Mickey, just an FYI for you (: And I see you have photographed the one place (Basin) I was confused about, since I know someone who went there, but I couldn’t figure out where it was… now I know I missed it :(

OK, yes, Team Mickey! Got it! I only poked my head in there long enough to find that Not-so-Hidden Mickey- not being such a sports nut, I really didn't pay attention.

Basin is amazing- overpriced, but amazing! The scents in there are truly intoxicating, and I probably came out with 4 or more diffenent fragrances on. Silly me. :rolleyes1

Oh, I love the Lego Store! They have some great lego sets out now, hopefully I’ll be able to see those when I’m back in WDW. Hopefully it will still be there and they haven’t changed it by then… :teeth:

Can’t wait to read more! :mickeyjum

They've had a lot of the same stuff there as they did WAY back in 2000. I wouldnt' worry too much about things changing drastically there. But even with the changes the stuff there is amazing to see!

Glad to hear the trip down memory lane was as wonderful as you imagined it to be. :goodvibes

Twice through Pooh is better than twice through the singing dolls.

Fireworks always bring me to the happy place. Something about the contrast to the darkness of the night and all the beautiful colors that leave me in awe.:goodvibes

It was all that and so much more, Pat!

Yeah, ummm.. twice through anything is probably better than twice through IaSW. :lmao:

They bring me to a happy place too, but I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for the explosions too. Nothing more fun than to hear some loud concussion!

So great, your mom and aunt let you go take a trip down memory lane and ride POTC again. It looks so much better than the one in WDW. I'm guessing that's why most have to worry about long lines for this ride than in WDW. I definitely must try it out when I go in April :goodvibes

It's definitely expanded and more full of detail. I think the storyline is so much better developed in Calif. than at WDW; and well, has better drops.

It's totally worth making sure to get on in April!!

I see the Pee before Pooh prophecy is fulfilled  It looks so adorable and I love the ride vehicles for this Pooh ride. Everything else seems the same though, but adorable nonetheless (: And yeah, riding Pooh twice would definitely not bother me, probably because there is more than one song ::yes:: hehe

It is fulfilled. I love the honey pots they went with here. Expecially with the bees, which again ties so nicely in with the Bear Country Land theme! :thumbsup2

I must say, that I have a counter-argument to men being very forceful when they are hungry. I can think of one situation where that doesn't happen and another situation where a lady acts like this, but I won't go into that... I'm just saying ;)

yeah, that was totally a generalization there. I am the same way; when I'm hungry I want to eat NOW! And I"m not afraid to say it around my family. But when I get around other girls and, say, we're spending a day together, we ususally hint around wondering if the others are hungry, etc... instead of just spitting it out.

The food at Cafe New Orleans sounds delicious, mmmm... though I'm only looking at those Pomme Fritters haha But I think your description of everything else adds to it. I'm in a foody-mood right now, but I'm not forcing food to come before me, am I? Hehehehehe

Yeah, I completely screwed up getting photos from our dinner! Sheesh what a DISMoron. Actually, we were just so busy enjoying each other, I wasn't thinking about pictures at that point.

Awwww... the way you describe your Aunt and your Mom watching the fireworks is just beautiful! It truly shows how deep a long love for Disney can go. If only I could see the day somebody I knew, who has been going to the Happiest Place on Earth as long as them, would walk around the park with me. Their perspective seems very powerful and gives you a great perspective into the place, you may never see again :cloud9:

You really worded that beautifully! I think you've nailed it right on!

Well, first Aunt Cherrie wanted to stop off and look for a couple of gifts for her kids. We ended up here where she found a couple of T-shirts,
Disney2011311.jpg
I had this vision of buying souvenir T-shirts made of briars for some of the less favorite members of the family, like say, the one you left behind when you picked up Aunt Cherrie for the trip.......... :rolleyes1

And I browsed around too, and found those gifts for the winners on my other thread. I hope you enjoyed them; this is where they were found 
:thumbsup2

Who doesn’t love the Disney-esque theming oozing from every nook and cranny and ceiling?!?
Disney2011312.jpg

Oh, now that is just too cool!!! :goodvibes
Pomme frittes should really be served with mayonnaise, but I'll let you slide since you liked them so much. ;)
As soon as I read that comment, I looked back at the picture expecting to see a container of mayo I missed the first time I looked.......
:confused3

Liesa, what a great update. How sweet that your Mom and Aunt let you ride POTC while they sat and chatted. And love that you rode Pooh twice...it is one of my favorites at DW.

Your lunch sounds simply delicious and I am now sitting here drooling (Mark's not home so I skipped dinner).

I now have tears in my eyes reading about the Fireworks show and everyone's reaction.

Sounds like a perfect way to end a special day.

We certainly had a wonderful afternoon and evening both together and with a solo ride on PoTC. I couldn't have asked for more!

Dinner was fabulous! I loved every bite, and have to say the decorations in the restaurant were so pretty! Lots of "stained" glass, woodwork, marble- it was simply elegant!

Glad I could pull you in emotionally with my writing- that's my goal! :thumbsup2

Sounds like it was a wonderful evening. I'm glad! :goodvibes

Pomme frittes should really be served with mayonnaise, but I'll let you slide since you liked them so much. ;)

It was mayo, just a a glorifed version- I think it was flavored or spiced with a Cajun deal??

Pommes Frites - Traditional French-fried potatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, served with a Cajun spice remoulade $5.49

There we go! All I can say was WOW!! YHavoYUMMY!!igna;vlauir (That's what it sounded like when we were eating them...)

well...

The indictment did come overnight..

Hmmm... time for another phone call!!!!

Leisa, once again you have shared your day at DL in a way that makes us all experience the joy and the memories with you!

You're so welcome, Tammie!! Hey, I've been wanting to call you up--- maybe I can try later today :)

Liesa your update put tears in my eyes. It's always emotional to go with people who see the magic the same way you do. Love the updates as always!! As you can see I survived our busy crazy weekend and the first days of school for my older two!! They absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back!!

Oh, so glad you were moved while reading! I love writing my updates, and so wish I had more time right now to devote to that! UGH!

Meantime, we are SEW busy with projects of ball gowns and re-enactment period clothing. Super fun, but takes a bit of time.

My daughter sadly HATES school- I am actually threatening to pull her out and attempt homeschooling even with my 2 classes. I want her to give it another month, but we'll. :confused3

Liesa - your writing is getting better and better - and that is saying a lot because I would have bought books from you before now!

Great job, Liesa!!! Awesome job!

Thanks, my friend! I think I'll ask God if i can be a writer in heaven; Lord knows there's not enough time here on earth!

Maroo - Welcome Back! It sounds like your life has gotten a litte "too" interesting.

L - your update was so fun. I continue to enjoy all your pictures from DL because SOMEDAY I am going to get there. :thumbsup2

Yes, SOMEDAY you will get there and really enjoy it a lot!! Let me know when you do!

I ran in to her at the fair today and she told me. She is very excited!:banana:

Such a small world!

Loved the pix of DSL and Winnie the Pooh !! Food looked Yummy too!!

Mary welcome back. Good for you standing up fo what is right !!!

Hi Rosie!! Glad you're still around for all our zaniness! :)

you and your fancy name for seasoned french fries....pomme fritters.;)

Yeah all hoity toity, I am. :rotfl2:

Psst.... :wave2:

I'm so behind that I didn't know Maroo took a DIS hiatus and this report, which I could have sworn started in Disney World is now somehow in Disney Land. Oh, I am confuzzled. :scratchin

Hi, ladies!!! :goodvibes

Well, actually, I took a surprise trip to DLR and am embedding a TR inside this one. So you haven't missed the boat- it's a SLOWWWWWW sailing ship, this one! EEK!!

Great to see you, KaT!!!

I had this vision of buying souvenir T-shirts made of briars for some of the less favorite members of the family, like say, the one you left behind when you picked up Aunt Cherrie for the trip.......... :rolleyes1
:thumbsup2

Oh, now that is just too cool!!! :goodvibes

:confused3

Yeah, he's a prickly memory that one. although he does deal some rather AMAZING antique firearms. I'd love to buy one someday! So can't totally burn that bridge yet.

I guess for me, that's one of the biggest reasons I can go back over, and over, and over again- the details NEVER get boring, and you can ALWAYS find new ones that are so clever and well placed! :thumbsup2

The little sauces on the HUGE dish of fries were very mayo-esque. QUITE yummy!

wow, I wasn't as far behind as I thought!

Mary, huge :grouphug: to you for all that you are doing. What an amazing advocate you are! Not only is Lauren blessed but setting what sounds like a major wrong to right is...wow.

Liesa,

I recall your text from ITSW! I have to admit, it's still funny and ironic. It is SO much prettier at DLR, as is Pirates, I'm glad you were able to do that as well.

I was totally :rotfl: about your description of how women ask each other if they are hungry. So very true!

Well I don't feel all that bad. I finished my TR, a year later (so 2 years in total with PTR and TR) but I'm actually ahead of you. Far behind in actual pages though. :rotfl: Clearly I skipped a lot of chatter, and I love (and miss) the chatter. I'm hoping (soon) that life will settle now that school has started again. We will see.

Seriously though, I know your are crazy busy but stop by the cruise TR if you can, you are missed my friend.

Oh yes Liesa I am still here but bust with working a lot ,I know who me:rotfl2:Then of course there are 2 Free trips coming up , to plan for pheeeewwww:scared1::rotfl2:
