Nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with asking for a particular view/area.What is wrong with just accepting the room they give you? I never make requests.
Nothing at all. At the same time, there’s nothing wrong with putting a simple request if you feel it will enhance your stay. It only takes a few minutes. There is no wrong way to do Disney IMOWhat is wrong with just accepting the room they give you? I never make requests.

Most likely the north wing, pool area. Might get a glimpse of the Pembe Savannah.
I have used a generic „nice view“ request at various resorts. Yes, nice is subjective, but it avoids the really bad views. We usually had pretty good rooms with this request.
Depends on what you are looking for, I guess. The room finder on Touring Plans is pretty helpful. Also see this post from @drusba:

Depends of how you define "success". An exact room number, maybe once in a handful of years. But getting the proximity to what I asked for, 100%. Just use their room/view finder and then set up your request. I don't make any other request thru Disney because I am worried I'll cancel out what Touring Plans requests. For those who use Touring Plans to submit your requests, what has been your success rate been? I'm debating singing up for the subscription, just wondering if it's worth it.
Thanks for the response. As exact room numbers is a long shot, a close proximity is is acceptable. I occasionally use the room view option.Depends of how you define "success". I think the subscription is worth it.
How do they make the request for you, I thought the owners had to ne the ones to put in requestsTouring Plans hands down. I subscribed mainly for that reason. I had a split stay just one week ago. One at OKW and the other at GF. I go on their site and can pick the rooms I want that include the view and interior on many rooms and then put in my request to them and they make the request on my behalf. They nailed both rooms perfectly.
And, FYI, I in no way work there or benefit in any way. This is Len Testa's site who also writes the 'Unofficial Guide' and that's how I found out about Touring Plans. Len is a known information magnet for everything Disney. I don't remember the cost, but it was very reasonable, but there's a ton of information including real time lines and a pliable plan based on your preferences. I use the cell phone App when in the parks. How do they make the request for you, I thought the owners had to ne the ones to put in requestsHow much is the subscription? Is there any other reasons to join besides room requests? Thank you

Anyway, on their site, you'll look at a map on the resort and literally pick rooms and many have pictures of views from that room. You let them know what your dates are and confirmation numbers and you let them know the room you would like and they will send you their thoughts on a request and send it out at a preferable 30 days before your stay. I've used it for two trips and it's worked well both times along with our last split stay last week. While they can't guarantee you'll get those exact rooms, we did in both resorts and loved them.
Just my two cents on something that's worked well for us.
Yes I can see the picture and examples, I will ask themI agree.
I don't recall what you're allowed to view with a non-paid subscription, but I'm able to see actual photo's of a specific room that people like you and I send to them, so there are a lot of photo's to give you the best idea of the view you want. Are you able to see the pictures when viewing a room?
Yes I can see all the room views like that and the bottom tells me what to put on the request. Room numbers that are similar and the way the building facesHere's and example of the porch view picture that is seen on room 9412 that is on their site that we ended up getting. Are you seeing this?View attachment 1022397
