ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Great update, Liesa. Mark REALLY misses the original Tiki Room and can't wait to see the changes to the one at DW when we get there.

Mary - you traitor! How dare you pick broccoli! As a person that has shared several meals with you, I thought I had this one in the bag! :lmao::rotfl:

Love the photo of the two of you - really shows the joy and camraderie (sp?) shared on this trip!

Thanks!! We had an awesome time at our happy place!!! We did get to ride the new Little Mermaid ride a few times with no wait and the new Star Tours a few times too with little wait times due to using fast pass/rider swap!! Glad to be home though and let things get back to normal but I have a feeling I'll be back in Oregon in the next week or so cuz I found out yesterday that my 3rd or 4th cousin (I can't remember which) passed away on Friday so once we know when the arrangements are we'll be heading up to Eugene, OR (I think that's where he lived). So another trip will be coming up soon.

Thanks!! We had an awesome time and are already planning our next trip for Halloween time!! I can't wait to see the parks decked out for Halloween.

I managed to have us packed and ready to go by 10 pm Saturday night. We ended up skipping my DH Union picnic just because it was way too hot and I just had way to much to do!!

Finally I'm all caught up. I hadn't been on the Dis since the 8th so lots to catch up on. Glad to see how happy you all are at both Disneyland and WDW. Now I'll hopefully stay caught up and can't wait read more!!

Sorry to her about your cousin, Sandra. Have safe travels:hug:

Glad you're enjoing it, Tammie!

Now we know how tired you were after your weekend! :rotfl2:

Well, summer is just so short, and there are so many fun things to do- last weekend we did the Salem Art Fair, which is a rather BIG deal here.

We definitely have to get our Summer stuff in quickly!

How sad to have had to bury a 14 year old. As a mom, I know only my faith could get me through something like that!

Their faith is amazing!

It did, and it didnt'....

Oh Oh!:sad2:

You're so welcome! I do know getting it all out on paper helps to cement it all in my mind.

Yep, we're (I'm) on my way to sing some Yo-Ho.

Getting it all on paper helps with your Pee before Pooh in your mind. :rotfl2:

Sorry, but I have to say this before one of the boys sees it - chalk it up to living too many years with only boys in the house

Seriously, that's why I like to do a TR - it is fun to relive the moments, and sometimes you file something away in your mind that you might have forgotten otherwise.

And I so miss the original Tiki Room; don't like it since the New Management took over. Can't wait to see the original again!

I finally got to see it this last trip and I enjoyed it right up to the annoying part where Iago and Zazu interupted. Sooooo glad they will be gone when they re-open, does anyone know when they will re-open the revised Tiki room? I'm pretty sure someone set that dang bird on fire, power to them!

Liesa, thanks for the wonderful DL update - convinces me more on more that I will forego building walls at WDW in 2012 for some fun in California (am thinking that once I am on the West Coast, I might have to visit the North West as well...). But then I am also thinking about Japan, meant to go there for ages... Sorry for the rambling...

The AL pics looks so wonderful, so sunny and bright and New Orleans Square has always been my favourite land in any Disney park. Katharina and I thought in 1995 that DLP was a bit of a failure for not having it...

I love hearing you ramble! :) Isn't DL great?!? It's so magical there, I love WDW, but DL will always have a special, magical, place in my heart. :lovestruc There is nothing like New Orleans Square, it such a beautiful part of the park, I miss it terribly when I'm in WDW. :guilty:

Glad you're enjoing it, Tammie!

Ooooh, I see. Your so busy with life there in OR that your confusing me for Tammie now. The funny thing is.....she answered!! :rotfl:

Some of you will probably be SHOCKED....STUNNED...simply AMAZED to find out that I actually craved number ONE more than picture TWO!

LeeAnn took a great picture of us being crazy and giving you guys our answer to the question!

The broccoli in Disney is SOOOOOOO good. Makes me want to go get some right now! YUM!

I really did enjoy the broccoli and not so much the chicken. But I loved the shrimp and steak! :)

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: This picture is so great! Yeaaaaah Mary ate the veggie!! It's tough to find veggies there in the world without adding a salad to a meal, so I know just what you mean. And yes, their broccoli is pretty dern good!

i am

thats because they no longer accept civil war money in this country.
:rolleyes1

I bought it too Dan. And as for the last comment...... Daaaaaaang, I can't believe you went there! :rotfl:

Civil War Money???? :confused3 I thought it would be beads and wampum!!! :rolleyes1
those are kept in a special box because they were her antiques.

I bought it too Dan.

Someone wasn't so merciful when the tables were turned...:rolleyes1

touche!

Great DLR pictures! The New Orleans Square theming looks amazing. Can't wait to see more. popcorn::

It is!! I really love it back in there! I hope I can get another installment up super soon- but want to get a chapter up on my blog first.

yeah, NO... NO I in no way believe it.... "lalalalalaaa I'm not listening" Broccoli better than wings? IF that is the case - then I want to know wth they did to the wings!! :confused3

It does just gets better and better!!
:grouphug:

I totally agree, Sandy!! Brocolli is just one veggie I can live without! But I will say, the chicken was rather dry at best.

Nifty updates you have written. Behind in my reading I was. :yoda:

An now, some thoughts.

Loved the morning in The Land. The photo you took from the balcony was especially cool as it showed the seats we were in when I took my pano pic. It brought back memories of that morning with the girls. (Our first full day of our trip.)

Also enjoyed the DLR update.

The foot skewering made me slightly woozy.

Not to be confused with slightly boozy. (NoLapuLapu)

Your picture of the Mickey phone had me wanting to switch to the Poly. Thank goodness it was just a test. An extra $1000 for a weekend stay in a room with a Mickey phone? Maybe DH is right, maybe I do have Disney issues:laughing:

Kona looks yummy as it always does and I love the shirts everyone is wearing.

Your DL update is great. I love seeing what is different over there and what is the same.

Actually, I took that picture later at the Guest Services at EPCOT. I think I inadvertently confused people- Mickey only called us, but it was on a regular phone.

As for your Disney issues, well, I'm not sure how to help you there.... I have my own. :lmao:

There really is enough different there to make a trip there worth it!

:thumbsup2

Why is this on the bottom of page 2? :confused3

Hope all is well - just trying to stay cool - dratted heat! :scared1:

Hey Liesa!! Just thought I'd check in on ya as I was thinking about you :goodvibes I have read all your updates just don't have time to catch up on all the banter. Hope all is well!

NO! I didn't know that!! Glory be!!!

They changed it for us- now it's:

" The hardest part about lunch time was fighting over the light and dark meat." :lmao::lmao:

'Tis true! It will no longer be under new management! :woohoo: I really hope it opens on the 15th since I'll be there!

Light/dark meat! :rotfl2: That's hilarious!!! Love it!

And the #1 picture made me laugh out loud - it really shows how much fun you all were having!!!

:yay:
It's been a VERY long time since I've said hello to you all -- Liesa, Glenn, Rose, Tracey and the Jen's -- so long, in fact, that I had to reset my password after many failed attempts last night to do so! :headache:
I just wanted to let you all know that I may have a chance to earn my ears  next Sept/Oct (date TBD) and My_Pal_Pluto will be returning to the DISboards to start a new PTR (I'm sure I'll find out what/when/how we're doing Disney on here at the same time you all will!!) so I may chime in from time to time ...
Hope this HAWT as Hades summer finds you all well and excitedly reporting of your trips past or near future~~take care all and I look forward to reading of you soon!! :tinker:

Sorry to her about your cousin, Sandra. Have safe travels:hug:

Thanks Tammie!! But it looks like the trip is off for now. They did the services on 7/19 and didn't notify any of us so now we're talking about just going up to visit sometime in the future.

Good Day to ALL of my DISboard friends.

Thank You Liesa for reaching out and inviting me back into the family ... I've always been somewhat of a black sheep (or maybe more aptly a mischievious breed pluto:)

There's much to say and OH so much to catch up on. I'm planning to start a new thread in the coming weeks to recall the fond memories from our sojourn to the "Promised" land last May ... even as I begin to DisneyDream again (is it EVER too early to begin getting the Fever ... even when the trip lingers some 15 months away?)

Check out that cute lil JJ Tinker Wish ... she's right about her post though ... she'll find out the trip plans at the same time as all of you!! :rotfl2:

Say there JJ ... any thoughts on where you might like to go for your inaugural Disney dinner our first evening?? (anyone have thoughts on WHERE you'd recommend I take her?)

Ahhhhhh ... it's SOOOOO good to be back!! :thumbsup2
