ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

DisneyTrip2010133-1.jpg

What a great update, Liesa. I love all the pictures but the one above is a favorite. I have never been to the Tambu Lounge and never had one of those drinks. We are meeting DIS friends from London at the Lounge in September and I already know what I'm ordering. ;)

So glad that LeeAnn arrived and you were able to adjust your dinner time; and also happy Tate enjoyed sharing your drink with you.

I'm happy with that one too. Such a fun evening in every way. The Tambu was really pretty busy, packed with peoples! But a nice vibe happening. It's a perfect place to have a meet! Great music, even better drinks.

Yup, she arrived just in time, had it been ANY longer, at all, we'd have gone in without her. :yay:

First off, I'm very sorry you were suffering with blisters. Did you bring some moleskin? I'm also sorry you missed the tiki lighting. Not that I've ever seen it but I do know what's it's like to miss something that you're really looking forward to.

Love the photo opps you got at the Poly. You've given me some idea for the next time we have Michelle there. She's usually game to fun photo opps. Oh the suspense of whether or not LeAnn would make it was killing me. I'm so glad she did.

I've never had the Lapu Lapu but my son did in 2007 and we have the funniest pictures of him enjoying it.

Love the pictures of Tate. He's such a ham.

I'm looking forward to your actual diner. Did you do the Hula?

Yay, LeeAnn made it in time for the chow down!

Liesa, I LOVE it that you had no problem asking strangers to take picture of you doing silly poses.....even BEFORE the Lapu Lapu!!:worship:

That Tate. He's like the most interesting man in the world.

Then shouldn't he have recommended the Dos Equis? ;)

Oh, and yes Rosie - you CAN get a non-alcoholic Lapu!:drinking:

A quickie drive-by post before I head off to camp with my Brownie troop for the weekend! First, a few facts for your amusement as you think of me this weekend. . . I am not overly outdoorsy and prefer hotels, I do not like bugs at all and we are supposed to have thunderstorms while camping with 15 8-year-olds. (On the bright side I think we are in a lodge and not a tent!)

Liesa - I love how you get so many people to take photos of you doing goofy things! You are one brave and fun lady! The Poly is so fun to explore and I would love to do it again some time.

Lapu Lapu -:love:! DH and I shared one during our brief Poly stay.

Sorry about the blisters! okay TMI here but it might help. . . DH loves Body Glide for chafing and others swear it also works great on feet to help avoid blisters. I learned about it on the DIS (lie so many other wonderful things!).

So glad you were able to push back dinner and that Leeann made it! :yay::woohoo:

See you Sunday!

I can't believe someone at Disney gave you a tip on how to save money:scared1: I can't wait to see the after 2 drink pictures:laughing:

I knew Leann would make it to 'Ohana on time. You just can't be late for pork and pot stickers.

The most interesting spud in the world doesn't always drink beer. And when he doesn't, he drinks Lapu Lapus. :lmao:

It sounds like you all had a fun time waiting for dinner. :goodvibes

Oh! I am in so much pain from your blisters, I can't enjoy the Lapu Lapu with you! I'm glad you go to try that little piece of pineapple heaven - twice.
:cloud9: I'm glad LeAnn finally made it, and it was so "hostessy" of you to offer up your fake Lapu for her.:thumbsup2

The whole ride was super. It was bumpy and fun with a ton of classic cartoony sight gags in it. Sniff, sniff, he's gone to Toady Heaven.
So you're saying he crooooaaaaked???
The chicks dig him- no matter what he's wearing. ;)
I'm guessing you aren't talking about me, right??? :rolleyes1
:lmao: I'm sure she was in spirit, if not in the flesh. :rotfl2:
Oh you HAD to go there...... :scared1:
I guess I worry about this SWAG technique given the nature of your business! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Reminds me of that scene in Apollo 13 where they "hope" the CO2 filter works....
Hey, it worked didn't it........ :thumbsup2
Yes, but those were accidental!! For the most part.
:banana::banana: How great you get to meet those ladies!! Lots of pictures, please everyone!!!
We might be too busy having fun for pictures...... :woohoo:
Wow, the things you learn everyday. So this is the junk like backpacks, water bottles, and promo videos, right? :confused3
Communicable diseases, awaking to find surprise tattoos, pictures from nudie beaches........ ;)
:lmao::lmao::lmao: I snort laughed at this!! That first one of me looks like I'm a crazed lunatic ready to check into the State Hospital.
Are you sure that picture didn't come AFTER you had the drinks??? :rotfl2:

Did you get my FB message?
I'm gonna try to get the kiddos to bed early tonight and try to catch up on this thread and the rest of the DIS. Wish me luck!

::yes:: And here's his little cemetary marker..... it's dark - but it's back there

Awww, there's the little bugger. RIP Toadie!

The blisters would be taken care of soon... I did have moleskin, but it didn't do squat. They were in such an ODD place. Right where the tougher skin on the heel meets the softer part right on the very back. And no lie, they were quarter sized or even larger. I SO wish I had gotten a good picture of them- they were truly monstrous!

The Tiki show will have to go onto my wish list for next time... there's always something!

Love the photo opps you got at the Poly. You've given me some idea for the next time we have Michelle there. She's usually game to fun photo opps. Oh the suspense of whether or not LeAnn would make it was killing me. I'm so glad she did.

There's a ton of fun photo ops at the Poly!! Well all over Disney really! It's a photographer's dream place! Not that I'm a photographer or anything, but you get the idea!

She made it really by the skin of her teeth. We really couldn't stall out any longer, and would have had to go in very soon!

I've never had the Lapu Lapu but my son did in 2007 and we have the funniest pictures of him enjoying it.

Is it postable? I'd love to see it!

Love the pictures of Tate. He's such a ham.

And a charmer too! :lmao:

I'm looking forward to your actual diner. Did you do the Hula?

Oh, I'll bet this new suspense is killing you!! :rotfl2: You'll have to wait a bit.

Yay, LeeAnn made it in time for the chow down!

YAYAYAYAYAY!!! She did!

Liesa, I LOVE it that you had no problem asking strangers to take picture of you doing silly poses.....even BEFORE the Lapu Lapu!!:worship:

I'm such a dork sometimes. No one ever really batted an eye, and always said sure!! IT was Fun!!!!

Then shouldn't he have recommended the Dos Equis? ;)

Beer is beer is beer.

To all my lovlies...

Alas the carriage is waiting to take me to slumberland. My battery is dying (the computer's, not mine) and everyone's asleep, so I can't go find it. I have a HUGE bonfire/ airsoft/ croquet/ volleyball/ BBQ/ late night movie party tomorrow and need to get some sleep before a long day. I won't be on Sunday, as you know, so will have to finish up responses and catching up on threads on Monday. Although... I won't have a lot of time then either. I leave on Tuesday for California, and will be on and off while there for the week.

Trusting you will all have a WONDERFUL weekend ahead! Mary should have an update up Monday or early in the week. Until then....

Love the update!! I've been a way for a few days due to graduations, Mary Kay parties (I sell), helping my best friend pack whose moving to San Diego tomorrow and now a sick baby!!! Lots going on!!

On a positive and sad note it looks like we are going to have to reschedule our trip to Disneyland next week. My husband got called back to work yesterday and I didn't think it would be a good idea for him to say oh I'm going to need next week off cuz we're going to Disneyland when he was just off for 5 weeks!!! And we'll be in Oregon over the 4th of July visiting my family so he'll be taking at least one day there. I was sooooo looking forward to getting the opportunity to meet but alas it wasn't meant to be. :sad1: Maybe next time!

Aww shucks, I was really hoping to meet up; BUT, YOU'RE COMING TO OREGON, eh?? Ummm, that's where I live.... where 'bouts are you headed?? POrtland, by chance?? We'll be around that weekend some, we do have a re-enactment on the Saturday and a party on Monday, but Sunday is open!

Have a FUN weekend Liessa !! Guess what I am doing ???? WORKING!!!:scared1:

Well, that's not so fun!! Darn! But, hey work= Disney $$$, right?

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and a great and magical trip.

Liesa, in case I don't get to say it in time: I hope you will have a wonderful trip to California despite all the potential problems this trip might bring with it. I wish you all the best and will be thinking of you while you are away.

I loved your story of your experience at the Tambu lounge. I had never been interested in the Lapu drink, it just seemed a bit of a rip off to charge so much more for it being served inside a pineapple. I love pineapples, but never saw the point of using one as a drinks container. However, your story really changed my mind and I am now seriously considering getting one in October!! :cool1:

Yep we sure are coming to Oregon. But unfortuntaly not your direction. We'll be heading to Klamath Falls. Bonanza to be exact. It's the southern east corner of the state. If we would be there for a longer trip like we have in the past I would make a day trip up your direction but it's not in the cards this trip. As of right now we'll be there from July 1st to July 4th. Leaving late on the 4th to come home. It's a fun time cuz my brother comes down from Washington, my sister comes up from Redding, my other sister lives there and we are coming from the Bay Area. It's a mini family reunion.

GREAT NEWS! I just finished the prizes for Pt. 1 of Where In the World! I think you'll enjoy them a lot!

HOWEVER, I never received addresses for: Molly, PirateKate, or Jessica (JPFamilyMom). If you'd like your very useful prize you need to get your addresses to me. Unfortunately, unless you get these to me by say 1:00 PM PST, you'll have to wait until I come back next week to mall them. Everyone else, they'll be in the mail by tomorrow afternoon.

Now, I need to go back and find those Pt. 2 Winners and start thinking about prizes for them. Hmmm... something from the Motherland perhaps??
