I also PM'd you !!This one gave my Kookiness free reign !!
Dis I miss the answers to "J"![]()
Well, I haven't done replies yet to the last couple days of posts, but I had to for this one...
Indeed, I was remiss in not having given the obvious answer(s) to "J". No one missed it, so I guess I glazed on over it- which makes me crave a maple bar for some reason.
The picture was from the Jambo House at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, wherein you can find Jiko - The Cooking Place nearby; unless you're hungry and then it's also The Eating Place. They also have the most fantastic restroom anywhere in Disney- perhaps even Florida-, so I also call it my ummm.... The Resting Place--- yeah, yeah, that's it, The Resting Place.![]()
Slightly OT
Here is a piece the Kansas City Star did yesterday on Glen and Lorie Holland.

Your review of POP is quite fair. I think everyone's experience can be different. I've always found the staff to be superb (except maybe at Everything Pop). Check-in and the concierge have always been willing to help. Granted my experience would've been soured too by a dirty diaper outside my door for more than a night!! I hope you will still try to give it another try in the future. It beats the All star resorts IMO.
Don't you LOVE the Poly?!?! It must've been like night and day compared to POP. I don't remember exactly but I think we were in the same building last time I stayed there. We had the castle view anyway. I hope you got to see the Wishes from your balcony! Poly always seemed hard to navigate through so your task of finding the right building seems on par with what I went through.
Love the little VW beetle. Such a cute car![]()
I'm so glad that you finally got to live your dream of staying at the Poly, it is a lovely resort.
Did you book a theme park view room or was that a special surprise upgrade? Either way, great view!
As a former VW lover I can tell you that a VW won't start until you put on your seat belt. That may have been your problem.
A Poly stay is on my Wish list too. Hoping for next year.![]()
Yeah for that view!![]()
Wonderful update, Liesa. We've never stayed at Pop, but this would have been our review of "All Star Sports." Just not our vacation style -- too crowded, too busy and way too loud.
I love your room at the Poly. I do miss staying there (our last stay was in 2004), but the price just keeps us away and we are happy at our moderate.
I love your little friend that joined you for coffee; and I'm glad Tate did NOT use your dining credits for pizza...especially Disney pizza.![]()
Ahhhhh the Poly. Someday for me .... maybe.
Either way I love sitting on the beach watching the EWP and Wishes or Hallo-wishes or Christmas Wishes or heck any fireworks over the castle is heavenly.![]()
Liesa, although POP can be fun and I like the nostalgia, my experience with guests have been the same as yours. Of course, our Rosie would be the exception.![]()
Don't you absolutely love the smell of the Poly?! The Polynesian (known as the Polynesian Village in our early stays) has always been our home resort. I never tire of it, will always love it...Yes! I do love the smell which makes the Poly so unique! And actually, the mods seem to have just as nice (but obviously different) theming and service. I'm fine with either.
My last Polynesian stay was in 2007 and I was 3918! Although we could not see the castle (did you step out onto the grass?) we had that wonderful end of the lagoon view, heard the ferry whistle/horn, watched the monorail glide out of the CR and of course, seeing the CR itself. From the 3rd floor we could also see the green rooftops of the WL - which reflected in the mirror over our couch!
REALLY!!?? How cool! I'll bet the balcony view was wonderful! Yes, I did have to wander off to the edge of the grass to see the castle, but it wasn't more than 10 yards or so, and in fact, could have taken my chair across the walkway, but didn't. I was happy with the monorail and CR views as well.
All in all, I don't think you did too badly getting yourself over there, finding the room and enjoying a bit of R&R!! I am sooo happy your dream came true!![]()
It was definitely a dream come true!
By the way, yours (and ours) was not a TPV - just a regular old Poly Garden View!!!![]()
