ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

My weekend was so nutty it looks like I read your update but didn't actually comment, arrgh!

I love the mai tai tip, though I'd worry it would leak as my lapu seemed to get drippy towards the end. I totally agree with Magdalene about the wasting of the pineapple but there is just something very fun about picking the darn thing up.

I am sorry to hear your aunt is in such bad condition. Prayers that this trip goes well and you can all have some special time together.

Travel safe!

Ugh, my internet is acting up, and I just lost these two replies-

And likewise, I have read BOTH of your last updates, but this week have only had time (barely) to catch up on replies to my own thread. I AM reading, but will have to comment while I steal some moments on my trip. Just not sure how that's going to happen.

Anyway, I wonder if they carved out your fruit too thin? I can't imagine why it'd be drippy? :confused3

Thanks for the well wishes for my trip. It will difficult indeed to drive away from her house one last time. :sad1:

Well, first things first. Thank goodness Leanne finally got there, I can't imagine how stressful that must of been. Glad to see you liked your Lapu-lapu.

I am so glad we were all finally together- and it certainly started with the typical girly giggling silly stuff. As you shall soon see... :rolleyes1

::yes:: I couldn't have said it better myself, Marv. I'm with Rosie, this is my escape for a little while. I love coming here knowing that no matter our differences we all have one thing that brings us together....our love for Disney. Where in the world can you go with so many different views on life and still have everyone get along and care for one another like we do? And your right, it's like we've known each other for ever when we do meet. I had more fun visiting OR and hanging with that great group of gals, that will NOT be my last meet. :goodvibes

This sounds like Cheers- "Where everybody knows your name..." Couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2

Speaking of Oregon, I guess Portland had quite the show today....so how was your bike ride this morning Liesa?!? Was it a bit "nippy?"

Yeah, I saw that. :lmao::lmao::lmao::sad2: Yep, that's where I live...

When I asked my dh (who is also a engineer) what SWAG is, he said Super Wild A** Guess.

Those engineers are all the same. Except mine doesn't have one coozie. But proabably only because he only drinks bottled beer or wine. :confused3

It's actually pretty amazing how many nerds are in this group!

No, no Glenn, Rosie is the pole dancer, Liesa is the flasher. :sad2: And I thought you were one of the more astute one's on here.

I promise to be on my best behavior for the trip. But all bets are off as I pass through the TSA. You never know what they will ask me to do there! :scared1:

And you never know what kind of perv will tell you about your pretty feet either. Things could get ugly....(or quite interesting as the case may be depending on one's point of view... :lmao:)

I hope your trip is a wonderful one. I'll be praying it so. :goodvibes

Thanks, Camille- I'll be on and off here, mostly off, while gone. This trip really needs to focus on family first. So really not a vacation. I think you understand.

I admit, it was pretty hilarious!

I thought that was a cozy!

I thought a swag was a curtain piece. :confused3

We have a 2/2 agreement on these. I've always heard them called cozies. :confused3 Must be a "back east" thing?

And yes, swags are curtain pieces or chandeliers. At least in my world. But then again, I live where people think it's ok to ride around on their bikes buck naked too. So what the h3ll do I know?

Now who's the sweet, innocent one!:lovestruc

:littleangel::littleangel::littleangel:

Here's another tip - If you don't poke a hole through the bottom with your straw, it won't get drippy! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

:lmao::lmao: Oh Tammie, that was rich!! :rotfl2:

Well, we couldn't have that! We've all seen torches before anyway. Tiki Liesa is entertaining all by herself! :thumbsup2

Nerdy engineering humor rocks! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hey, I like that- I should be Tiki Liesa for all future Poly posts!! You've hit on something, my Captainy Friend!!

I'll have to ask Mr. Forester Geologist if he knows of any nerdy humor to add to our discussion. My ME son LOL when I told him what a SWAG was. I probably just added greatly to his education in all things engineering- and the government didn't even have to pay me for it. :lmao:

Well at least SOMEBODY got it!!! :thumbsup2
Cozy is what you hope for after enough cold adult beverages in the coozie!!! :goodvibes

Oooooooooooooooh, now it all makes more sense.

and im happy that i spelled coozie right to get this line of comments off on the right foot....:banana:i was for sure i had it all wrong.

I'm not completely convinced anyone really knows HOW to spell it- even for those of us who can, Dan. :lmao:

maybe you can quote it for me, i still dont see it.
:surfweb:
See above (post 1970)
i got it as well, i was just trying to play off your word a little. :sad2:
Well I KNEW you would get it!!! :rotfl2:
And if Dan's comment didn't make the (head)lights come on, ummmm.... this certainly did....You have me rethinking my wardrobe that's packed for my trip.
Less tops??? :confused3

Even worse than some of the conversations here???

Oh, you're still talking about airport security and not the DIS aren't you!!! :rotfl2:

Actually I think he is right, other than maybe it starts with a "K" instead of a "C." Everyone gives poor Dan such a hard time about his spelling, I just didn't see any reason to pile on about it like everyone else seems to....... :sad2:

Well, in all truth, that was more of a dig on my lack of coozie knowledge, more than anythying else. I've never even heard the word before, so was poking fun at that- with mild poke at the end.

I apologize, Dan, if that offended you :flower3::) Marv's got your back covered!

Rosie's mostly a pole dancer, but she's admitted to flashing on occasion....especially in Pirates of the Caribbean. pirate:  Go ahead, ask her.

Hey, I like that- I should be Tiki Liesa for all future Poly posts!! You've hit on something, my Captainy Friend!!

Tiki Liesa does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it? :scratchin Just be carefuly you don't mis-pronounce it and say Leaky Liesa, which could have a different

Just tell him to remember this:
In the eyes of an optimist, the glass is half full.
In the eyes of a pessimist, the glass is half empty.
In the eyes of an engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. :thumbsup2

Oh now I'M confused!!!

I always learned the glass was √36 of what it needed to be???

is that how you measure everything in order to confuse others into thinking it is bigger than it actually is.

:rotfl:

Thank you! So I only look slightly like an ignoramous. At least in the coozie dept. But I have to ask: why do they give those out at a professional conference? :confused3 I mean I can see those at like a outdoorsmen/ hunting/ fishing/ boating/ hunting show, but for engineers? I don't get that.

Anything in a can, not just beer. The ones I get are flat so I guess they are really easy to transport and cheap.

As for the coozies, it is something that companys know most people will put to use so they put their company logo on there and get essentially free advertising.......along with keeping their name "at the tips of your fingers" in hopes a potential customer will think of them first when needing to order something. :confused3

::yes:: and they will most likely be used. You always need more when you have people over.

Well, first things first. Thank goodness Leanne finally got there, I can't imagine how stressful that must of been. Glad to see you liked your Lapu-lapu. I myself liked it, but thought it to be too much also, so your not alone Lessa. :goodvibes:
I like my Mai Tai's full of liquor and pretty cheap. ::yes::

I KNEW YOU WERE A BAD GIRL in DISguise (is that another glennism, or is it a Millieism now?. Uhhhhh, hmmmm. :rotfl: You know I love you Pat. I need to call you soon, we need to catch up!

Really it was my mom that got such a kick out of it. I thought it was funny that in Disney we were going "south" on a ride. :lmao:

Yes we need to catch up. Work has been insane the past couple of weeks and until After July 4th I think it will continue:headache:

Hi Liesa, I'm a little lat, but I wish you a good trip and memorable time with your mum and aunt!

Hi Liesa, I'm back from Mexico and you are off on a trip to Cali w/Mommy.
Have a great time. Hope it is very memorable.
did some catching up though. Skimmed the banter. Wish i had time.
Torch lighting is cool. They start it with a fire dance. He was......easy on the eyes. The fire was so close to his body. We thought he actually touched. When he was done and lighting the torches we saw a spot on his chest start to Blister....:scared1: price of doing business with flame, i guess.

Lapu Lapu: me and sis. bought one each and sat on the swing outside on the beach 20 feet from our room. talked, and laughed. bought another and shared. laughed.

hey wouldn't it be a good idea to share another???:rolleyes1

laughed so much that night that our cheeks and stomach muscles hurt the next 2 days. We love the Lapu Lapu's ......

KIM

do not remember going back to the room though:rotfl2:

**Pardon the interruption while I try to pick the brains of some of Liesa's followers**

**The following is my latest post on my TR which I am going to shamelessly plug on some of the other TRs that I am following. My link is in my signature if you are not already following**

I want to try to do a guessing game similar to Liesa's Master Predicter game. I am not organized enough to do one like Marv's with questions that I would answer in the report because I don't write my reports ahead of time. When I find the time I ramble on until I either run out of things to say, or time to say it. I'm not as creative as the Captain to blend movie quotes into the report. And I don't take many pictures (and avoid having ones of me) so I couldn't do a search and find like took over Glenn's.

But I am having a hard time coming up with questions that don't just have yes and no answers. I do have a few written down, but would like to request some suggestions from you folks! I will post a final list sometime before I go, will take the list with me to make sure I keep track of what the answers are. And will reveal the answers when I get back. Maybe to book-end my hat a day count-down, I will do an answer a day after our return.

**I will now return you to Lieas's regularly scheduled TR**
