Hi --

This is going to be my husband and my (both 30) first trip to Disneyland. We have been to Walt Disney World many times. I have been saying to my husband "I wonder if we will see any celebrities in Disney - I hear they go to the California parks". We are from Massachusetts.

Well, I just heard that the third annual ABC Primetime Preview Weekend is going to be held at DCA from September 10-12, 2004. That means tons of celebs stolling the parks.....I am guessing it also means a much more crowded park.

Has anyone ever been at DCA before while this weekend is going on - what happens? Can you meet people? Is it crazy crowded there? Do you have to buy any separate admission tickets to anything?

ANY INFO AT ALL WOULD BE APPRECIATED -- I am both excited about this news (seeing famous people) and upset about the news (the parks will be packed now and it will change the weekend...)

Thanks
Nicole

I took my DD last year and we had a great time. There were actors from all the ABC shows. We found a perfect location outside the media tent and took photos and asked for autographs from many celebrities. We also enjoyed a concert by Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts. Wayne Brady was taping his show in the Hyperion Theater (advance tickets were required). I have 2 pictures of John Ritter just days before he passed away.

We had so much fun we are going back again this year.

DCA will be a bit more crowded than normal, but the rides aren't generally more crowded because most of the people are there to see the Celebs.

They gernerally have a Q&A session with different actors. I remember John Ritter talking about his wife and kids during one of the sessions.

They generally have different areas set up where people can stand in line and get photos and autographs. Basically you've got to decide which ones you want and go get in line, because they only let so many people in line (Each Celeb is only out for so long) and the lines fill up quickly.

Couple years back they had Who's Line is it Anyway playing in Hyperion theater. We went to get tickets at 10 AM and they were sold out. We got there early the next day, before opening, and there was a huge line. We got tickets for the show at like 3pm. So if they do a special show like that get there early for a seat.

Also the Q&A sessions fill, generally there are 2 sessions worth in line. Current session is being done, next session is in line, with the session after that's line being started.

As I said earlier decided what activities are important to go and get in line early for them. Maybe it will be different this year, but the past two years were crowded (we visit DCA often, and mainly just walk around a look at who is there, or listen to the Q&A as we're walking around, not actually getting seats) They also usually have a parade which features some of the stars.

Last year we saw Katey Sagal chatting with a couple of fans while walking near It's Tough To Be A Bug. We were surprised to see her "out among 'em", but that's where she was, and when done talking she continued on, probably to her Q&A session. Of course I can't guarantee you're going to run into a celeb, but it happened to a couple of people last year. I.e. Your Mileage May Vary. ;)

I've wanted to go the last couple of years but wasn't able to. I'm going this year for sure.
