ABC Elements: Complete

Huge  to everyone!!! :)

Keep up the good work ladies.. You are an inspiration to those of us not in the element swap!!!! :)

Good morning everyone. I'm going to be a couple of days late on the posting of my prototypes. I'll try to get it taken care of as soon as posible. Big sorry to the Hostesses.:flower3: :flower3:

I too am just squeaking in with my last prototype. I have been having a crazy two weeks. My husband's Nana passed away, my husband had to be a best man in a wedding and I made the wedding cake, my husband turned 36, my niece turned 1 and now my daughter is sick. This has all been in the last two weeks. Since I am home with a sick child though I was able to get my Best Friends prototype done. I hope it works getting posted on here since I had such a hard time last time.

I am sorry about your DH's Nana. You certainly have had a busy two weeks, funeral, wedding and birthdays. I hope you DD is feeling better soon.
I love your prototype! Very original and very cute Die Cut Characters!

I also love the quote about Best Friends. It's a year ago today that my best friend was killed, and we (her family and friends) say that we are so lucky to have known her, and to have had her as a part of our life. I think about her constantly, and wonder if I will ever have a best friend like her again (doubtful). I will share your quote with her family and friends because I think it is especially true about Katie. :goodvibes
 I am sorry that you lost your friend. Good Friends are hard to find.

Started cutting out Naughty this morning! I love my Cricut! For the amount of letters that I cut out this morning in 20 minutes, it would have taken me hours with Sizzix or Coluzzle.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I PMed the hostess to explain the lateness in my posting of the prototypes. I have everything purchased, and had everything sketched. But I got CDS last week and wanted to use it for this swap. It has a long learning curve, which I didn't expect.

I have the titles, journal boxes, and photomats for "I" and "J" - need to do those elements. And I am still trying to design "P" (the title). I don't have to work today (or this week :cool1: - the lab is closed until next Tuesday), so I will be scrapping all day AND all week.

I will post the prototypes this evening. Sorry for the delay everyone.

Thank you for understanding my situation & lateness. My mom is fine and my dad is back at home helping her out. She has her follow up appt tomorrow, but says she's feeling good.

Since I had everything already cut out, I was able to assemble most last night. I have finished F1: Fantasmic, S1: Soarin', and R2: Royalty. I am currently assembling the rest of Q2: Disney Quest. This should be done tomorrow evening. Here are the pics of the one's I've completed:

F1: Fantasmic
F in topper is pop dotted. The hat is a paper piecing. The text under the photo mat says "The ultimate battle between good & evil." The journalling box is vellum over fireworks.

S1: Soarin'
S in title is already larger than rest of text. Journalling box hangs from hanglider. Hanglider is on sticky paper already, but journalling box is not (that way you can decide if you want it to dangle or to stick it down). The photo mat comes with a piece of vellum (already sticky backed) to put over your photo. I did this because I have a tendency to get a LOT of other people in pictures by Soarin'. So I figured you could cut out the area you wanted to show through and stick the vellum over the rest. (Let me know if you want to see an example - people have used this for ride photos with other people in them.) Imagineering Quote about the amazing accomplishment that is Soarin'.

R2: Royalty
R is bigger than rest of flags in topper. Journalling box is within crown. Some people will get pink jewels, some green jewels, and others will get white/silvery jewels on their crowns. Tags have a picture of the castle on one and picture of the coach on the other. Photo mat has jewels in corners (and a few extra included to come up on your picture if you choose).

Here are my "I" and "J" for group 1.

The I is stickled, and the sights on the photomat and journal box are pop-dotted. And the elements are supposed to be the Dutch boy and girl - not sure if it looks like that. Oh, I used the CDS to make the title look like the Disneyland sign.

The J is stickled and the title is chalked. Used CDS to weld and add the palm fronds to the L and subsitute the anchor for the I. The leaves on the photomat are pop-dotted, as is the head of the hippo.

I'll post the "P" tomorrow - well, actually today, but after I go to bed. Who knew scrapping all day was so tiring? :goodvibes

I love all of the new stuff posted!! Why didn't I sign up for the elements groups, too?!?! I especially LOVE the Soarin' set!!!!!!!!!

The Y is stickled.

I just got the stickle stuff at Archiver's. It is really neat.

I am quoting myself;) I wanted to get some opinions about these elements. I want to use some brads on them but I can't decide what color. I also wanted to say that I am going to go with the narrower border around the mats. I usually do 1/4 inch but I think I like the narrower 1/8 inch better.

I have a lot of brads, primary colors and different metals, black, bronze copper. I also have some shiny square ones. I am leaning towards blue but blue is my favorite color and I tend to pick it often. Yellow might be a good choice too.

Also, If you were going to chalk these what colors would you use?

Thanks for your help!:thanks:

Nancy - -I would use either blue or red brads. Sometimes I find if I put a photo down on the mat the decision becomes easier.

Where are you going to use the chalk? Maybe blue on the edges of the cloud paper?

I have updated the slideshows - -TinkerBean I had left out your Buzz, but he is in now.

I have been in contact with each swapepr about the outstanding prototypes and we should be seeing more soon. Thanks to all for your cooperation!

I'd look at the DVD and see what you think fits.

I was thinking of using blue on the edges of the cloud paper. I just started questioning myself and wondering If I chalk one of the papers do I have to chalk the others?

Sometimes I get really good ideas about chalks other times I feel really unsure about it. Usually I just do a shade darker than whatever color the paper is. Sometimes I try it out on some little scraps to see how it looks. I love chalks though. I have a lot of the little cat's eye chalks.
