Even though I haven't seen either in years, I have many fond memories of watching all the ABC shows in the late 90s. I guess this is as much my fault than anything.

Livid! Sorta. AMC has become terrible in my opinion but OLTL is really good these days.

GH, the only show they kept is pretty unwatchable!

I keep waiting for The Young and the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful to get canceled too. I mean how many times can Victor marry Nikki and how many times can Ridge go back and forth between Taylor and Brooke???

If a man tried to do that crap in real life, there would be a killing by now!

Very sad - I grew up watching AMC with my mom. When I would get sick & stay home from school, we would watch it together. I haven't watched it in years but never thought it would be cancelled. The replacement shows sound weak.

I just saw this too and thought maybe it was a late April Fool's joke. I have been watching AMC on & off for years.

Wow - I must say I'm kind of shocked by this. I've watched AMC since I was in high school.....sporadically, but you can miss a month or two here & there and catch up pretty quickly. I always looked at daytime soaps as staples of network tv.

If I want another cooking, decorating or health show, I can always tune in to a cable channel.

Does this mean Erica has had her last wedding?

I can remember watching the first episodes of both these shows (and GH). I have not watched regularly in years but still catch one here or there if I'm home from work for some reason. It will be sad to see them go.

I've never watched these soaps (I've been a DOOL fan for a long time) but I feel sad for the people who've watched these shows for such a long time. My mother wouldn't know what to do with herself if DOOL went off the air, and there's been times when I thought it was going to be cancelled.

I was brought up on GH and AMC..Jenny and Gregg will always be my all time fav couple! I have laughed and cried over the years and although I haven't watched it in a few years since working, I still want to hear about Erica, Tad, Adam...the whole Pine Valley crew. I guess I will have to start tivo'ing it now..don't want to miss the whole series wrap up.

channel 7 (here in NJ) just made a mention at 4pm (right before Oprah) that AMC and OLTL are cancelled - more during the 5pm news....

I know its pathetic, but I am crushed! I stopped watching AMC a few years back, but I watch OLTL and GH every single day. My husband will be thrilled, he hates that I watch them, but I can't imagine them not being there. There is no better frivolous drama and eye candy on daytime tv!

Don't be surprised if it is next. I have been a NBC soap fan since 1985. Santa Barbara, Another World, Passions all gone. I will be very sad when DOOL is gone too.
