ABC 8x8 - POSTAL!!!!!!!!!!

finally got more paper today. My LSS had a huge sale and sold out of almost all of their cardstock! I still need black for my cover pages but I ordered that today, so it should be here within the week. Good thing DH is out of town!

Working on these... in between the other swaps... will be in full swing this weekend and all next week... and I hope to mail as I said before by the 28th or 29th.. school is just a few short weeks away... and fair is in 2 weeks so we are going to be busy, busy, busy!!

Guess I should post progress on the progress thread.
My Mad tea party pages are done.
Still need to do Yo ho/Zurg & Busy Bees. Will finish those after I finish the elements.

My package will be postal today!! I sent it along with DH so not sure if he'll mail this morning or this afternoon.

Working on the last one -- characters. Everything is cut. Mats and boxes assembled. Ready to start adhering the letters today -- umm 9 letters + a shadow = 18 letters x 14 sets = 252 letters -- really what could I have been thinking? I better get to AMC for more xyron.

I have everything cut! Woo hoo for me. I just need to put it together and print the titles... I'm coming along.

NEE -- your box arrived! I will check it out after the kiddies have gone to bed...2 hours and counting:rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 Thanks for letting me know. I hear you on the Xyron - I always keep a stash of 6-8 refills in the closet. I depleted my stash on this swap! I need a sale to re-stock.

I've been waiting for that sale for about a month. It is way over due.

Your pages and elements are fabulous! I love the red paper from the Adventure swap. I am so lucky that I get to see all of these first!

Let me know when you do see a sale in case I miss it!

Thanks! I thought that red paper worked well.

Michellepooh's package arrived today. They look great! The ribbons on the castle page is so pretty. I like how you arranged them.

THansk to both you and NEE for your gifts!

Rats! Today was my goal date for completion. I can't stay up any longer. I have just the skittles left on my last layout (all 14 sets). I also need to go back and sign one set of pages since I forgot.

Question:

Is anyone using the left over 4 inch wide strip for mats??? Would that be ok?
I have the paper for the believe pages and one side is green and one is pink and I wanted to use the opposite mat for the pages but I bought out my LSS.

Susan would that be ok if the top mat was 4x6?

Crud, thanks for the reminder to sign my pages! I bought a Handmade by_____ stamp for this very reason!

I'm saving mine for the day we can mat 3 X 5 pics or similar. I've started using mine for torn borders on the page, topper mats for other pages, etc.

My base pages are being made from 8-1/2x11 so I have 3x8-1/2 strip. I've been using them to may my folded hidden journaling. Not on every one, but most. They tuck very nicely behind a mat.

I'm not real keen on having to cut my photos. I edit my photos before printing so they are printing what I want shown at that size. It'll make it more complicated to have to trim my photos when it comes time to putting the book together. I want to be able to just pick the right photo and put it down on the page.
JMHO

I'd rather have the photo mat ready to accept a 4x6 photo. I was looking for speed in competing the album.

Here are a few things I have done with the scrap:

for 12 x12, you should be left with either the L, or a 4x12 strip and a 4 x8 strip.

I have used the scraps to make a pocket like this

and here is MazdaUK's

a "ribbon strip" like this on the tag, or the side of the photomat

or border strips

and last triangles

Susie -- I would like the idea of 3x5 photomats. If you have a plan, I'm willing to host it!

I would so be up for a 3x5 photo mat swap. I have so much scrap paper that is too large to throw away but too small for 4x6 mats.
Could we have a few groups of free for alls? Where we just use up our scraps. Each element in the baggie would match, but not match from baggie to baggie.
