Abbreviation: VGC?

The 'official' name for the DVC resorts at Disneyland is:

"The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa"

So what should we as DVC members adopt as the abbreviation to use?

I'm guessing "VGC" works best. It's in line with VWL which has a similar name.

I plan on using VGC in my DVC programs unless anyone has a better idea. I am limited to a maximum of three characters.

If everyone likes VGC we can also set that up as the official DISboard abbreviation to represent the Villas at the Grand Californian. (The current abbreviation for the hotel itself is "GC")

Any thoughts?

I have always used GCV "Grand Californian Villas". But VGC works well also.

Either VGC or GCV will do. Personally I think GCV rolls off the tongue better when spoken.

I agree with this statement and have always used GCV - but more than likely it'll be VCG.

I would go with the official acronym, VGC.

With AKV, I really liked VAKL (one could say 'vackal' as in rhyming with jackal) but it was not to be.

I agree GCV sounds better...but until the Wilderness Lodge becomes WLV, I think VGC is more appropriate.

I've been using GCV for so long it just might take me a while to change, but I can adapt if others prefer VGC.

I'm in the camp that the acronym should follow the name...so VGC is my vote. Why would the acronym be different than the name of the resort?

As far as how the acronym "sounds"...how many of us use these acronyms in daily conversations?

I agree with GCV. Every time I see VGC I think 'very good condition'...which I'm sure will be true!

One of the many things I like about VWL is that initial V. I know it's small and petty, but it was meaningful to me and honestly figured in my decision to buy.

If I owned at VGC, I'd want it to be VGC too.

I switched to VGC a few months ago when the official resort name came out. I still trip up a bit, but I'm fine following the resort name.

I'm with the acronym matching the name. So my vote is VGC, even though I like the sound of GCV better.

That is the best! But to avoid confusion, I think we should go with VGC. It's already made searching a bit harder that people have used both VGC and GCV in the past.
