Abba's music finds a new generation

DD and DH went to a Daddy-Daughter dance - and DD came home singing "Dancing Queen" - DD is 10, and she thinks it is the coolest song. I had to dig out Abba's greatest hits - vinyl - that woke her up. I think we are going to go to best buy and see what we find in CD - maybe we'll just go for the Mamma Mia soundtrack... A blast from the past - I hope the Disney Magic has Abba in their family karaoke offerings!

The kids at my pre-school like the "Mamma Mia" soundtrack too!

I didn't see the play but my Mom and a group of parents from my school did. They loved it!

My thoughts exactly. The songs are being resurrected also by a group called the A-Teens. If they are still together. Plus the Broadway Show Mama Mia is an Abba revival, of sorts!

And I often say...like you...why? I hated them on the first go-round!!!

I love Abba. I bought their greatest hits cd a couple of weeks ago. My ds LOVES #15 on there. I believe it's called Your Mama Don't Know. That's what he calls it anyway. My dd loves the music too. She thinks they are imitating the A*Teens though.

I like Drum and Bass, Techno and Electronica, rock and classical, Big Band and the Blues, even SOME country music.

Everyone likes different things... some people even like Celine Dion!

My 11yo DD found the a*teens a couple of years ago and knew the lyrics without knowing who ABBA was. The a*teens did an excellent cover album, sounding very near to the originals.

I don't see their appeal, I never did, but I can see where the kids would. The song "Dancing Queen" would be a cute anthem for little girls.

Where's Banzai?? I thought he would be all over this thread!
