Abaco Rigid Hull Snorkeling Adventure

Hello! Has anyone done the Abaco snorkeling adventure from Castaway Cay? How was it?

MY husband and I did it a few years ago when we were cruising without the kids. We have done a lot of snorkeling and I thought it was just ok. We didn't see very much compared to other snorkeling trips, but if it is your first time snorkeling you might think it was kind of neat. We had been to CC before but even then I was a little bummed that it took up half of our day. If this will be your first time to CC, it will seriously cutt into your time to explore the rest of the island so make sure you are ok with that.

I did this with my family December 2014. By far this has been our favorite excursion. The day before my DH & DS went scuba diving in Cayman and they both said they saw more and enjoyed this more. The water was crystal clear and warm. After snorkeling we stopped at a sand bar and although there wasn't much to see as far as snorkeling, sitting in the sand with crystal water on all sides having a drink was pure paradise!

I've thought of the time on CC as well. We are staying on the ship for Nassau. Would love to do a snorkeling excursion, but thought the CC one would be better than Nassau. Also, we live on the East Coast, 5 min from the beach. So wondering if a half day at CC after snorkeling would be enough time since we get lots of beach time at home. Although $400+ for the 4 of us is a steep price!

Thanks for the responses! I had the same concern about losing precious CC time but the time on the sandbar sounded cool. My husband is mostly concerned about missing lunch! I'm sure the time can change but do you remember if the excursion went in the morning or the afternoon?

When we went we did not miss lunch. My husband ran the 5k first thing then we all went on CC, snorkeled there and hung out on the beach. We then had some lunch. We got back to CC and went right to the ship.
