AAU Volleyball 2016

Hello! I'm so excited to FINALLY know we are headed to Disney next summer!! I had already planned to get there any way possible in early June, then last week my daughter's club volleyball team announced they would attend AAU next season rather than seek a national bid! This is beyond awesome, because now I know come rain or shine we'll be in Orlando next June - however, it throws a little wrench in the plans because I feel like some of the control, most of the control around our desired dates, is now gone and so is the pace of our trip...

Can I please have some help here from fellow DISer's that have gone to AAU and utilized the travel agency and how that impacted their experience when it came time to get to the parks??

From what I understand, we can stay where we want to - so naturally for our family it's going to be at one of the resorts, thinking POR - especially if games are held at WWOS. I looked online at the travel agency and they have great prices for park hoppers however, there is a 30 day advance purchase ONLY - so no preplanning months in advance to get our fast passes, etc...

any help or sharing of experiences I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I wouldn't plan on having a trip similar to what you're used to. Ultimately, park time will come after practices/games. Even though your family will want to stay at a Disney resort, I can imagine the team would like to stay together and the coaches will probably pick a resort. Granted, you're free to stay elsewhere, but I can imagine that your daughter would like to stay with her team and hang out with them in the parks outside of practice. I would plan on any TS meals or FPs. It's going to be a trip scheduled around the team's schedule and when they aren't playing, the team is going to want to stick together. It isn't "your" trip anymore-it's the team's.
