Ok, like I wasn't already completely bouncing around here getting ready for our flight out early tomorrow morning....

DH works for Boeing, has for 32 years. He mentioned to his boss quite awhile ago that we were going to DL, and said, "You don't know of any connections we have to Club 33, do you?" She said, "Actually, the company does have a membership; I know the guy who manages it... let me see what I can do." I knew nothing about his inquiries; it was a surprise. DH JUST got the call a few minutes ago saying they'd got us in for lunch tomorrow, our first day, at 1:30!!!!!!

He came into the bedroom where I was packing and said, "Now, what time are we getting into the parks tomorrow?" I said, "Like, 11:30, 12?" "What are we doing for lunch?" "Well, I thought we'd just grab something quick service for a snack, since we're having dinner at Napa Rose at 5:30." "How about Club 33 at 1:30?" I was like, "Whaaaaa?" He started to explain and I threw a shirt at him and screamed, "No way! How did you do that?" He was laughing his head off and then told me the story.

I never thought I'd get in there, like, ever.

I've been on the phone trying to move our Napa Rose chef's counter reservations to Thursday or Friday night; got a message in waiting for a callback. We had ressies for 5:30; there is no way I'm going to be able to eat lunch at 1:30 and then go do justice to the chef's counter at 5:30, nor would I want to crowd those two awesome experiences. (eta: got in at the dessert counter for the late seating Thursday night instead :) )

I'm so super uber excited!

Wow!!!!!! Congratulations! What an amazing birthday surprise....once in a lifetime for so many of us. A big pat on the back for your hubby. Have a fantastic time and be sure to report back!
:cake:

What a great DH and a great birthday surprise. Now I'll ask what the rest of us are thinking...can he get us in on our birthdays? :ssst:

Congratulations. We were lucky to have some random act of kindness off of this board and were able to go for my daughter's bday and graduation. It was amazing! We were so nervous and excited though (we didn't want to do anything to screw up the member's status and were being strict about following every rule to the letter, such as dress code, etc.) I feel like we didn't do a good job of taking it all in! Enjoy!!

Right? We got the email with the details from the company and I immediately changed what I was going to wear to the parks tomorrow. Khaki shorts and t-shirt go back in the suitcase, and the long floaty skirt and black lace trimmed top came out. My 21-y.o. DD is like, 'Do you need any advice about what to wear? Accessories?" LOL.

I'm kind of too excited, too. I actually am feeling kind of sick. I gotta calm down. :hyper:

That is so awesome! Definitely my dream. I've wanted to find a connection to surprise my best friend for years. No such luck yet, but maybe one day!! Come back and tell us all about it.

I didn't know Napa rose did a dessert counter. I might like that. I think their food is not my style.

There's different areas to be sat at Chef Counter , but if you don't care for their food you can just done in the lounge. Though the food is amazing :)

I've seen this before. Why can't you take pictures of the bathroom?
The rules from the club are pictures may be taken in any public area (no video at all). They specifically state the bathroom and kitchen areas are not public and no photography there. They have even added a sign IN the bathroom that says not to take photographs. In California is there a law regarding taking photos in bathrooms? I think there is something about an expectation of privacy in a bathroom.

Personally, I have seen people taking photos while another woman was adjusting clothing. I was a little surprised someone would take a photo then, but perhaps they were just too excited. I know one member who got informed they would not be able to make unaccompanied reservations for a month because of their guests behavior (photos were only one of the issues.)

I had no idea, thanks. I live in CA and have never heard that.

It's hard to imagine behaving poorly as a guest of a C33 member. That's too bad.
