I am going nuts here! Last Sat, I watched the Holidays at WDW show that I had recorded. I did not erase it because it was a lot of fun and I wanted my kids to be able to watch it. However, it is NOT there anymore. Nor is Return to Neverland which I just recorded yesterday. My BIGGEST, HUGEST problem though is that Felicity, an American Girl story is also GONE!!! Oh, I cannot tell you how much of a problem this is going to be. DD is having a party on Dec 18th to watch the movie, go caroling etc and NOT having the movie is going to be a crisis! The poor kid missed it when it was on because she had dress rehearsal and then a performance and now we DON'T have it.

Wahhhhh, I could cry and I do not even want to tell her it is gone.

What is up??? Sat we had 24 hours remaining avail and now tonight we have 43! I lost 19 hours of recordings!

For the shows I really need to watch, but don't know when i can get to them, I set the tuner to "keep until I erase"

I don't trust computers, especially when it comes to MY shows.

I haven't looked for the keep until I erase concept but all of this stuff was fairly newly recorded so why "it" thought it should be erased is beyond me! A friend was telling me Felicity is coming out on video soon so at least that is one crisis averted!

There is a "do not save" tag that broadcasters can add to broadcasts, that DVRs sometimes respect. That might account for it, as well.

At what quality are you recording shows?? Recording at the highest quality drops down the number of hours that can be saved substantiallty. I've 'tweaked' mine to record at the lower quality and haven't notice much difference in the picture and now I can save the full 80 hours that my TIVO says that it does.

Also, anything that you want to save, but sure to click "save until I delete" -- I have Penn State football games that my son is on TV and they're still there from last September.

Our DVR has four settings, and we never record on less than the second-highest setting. We only get 27 hours of programming, instead of 80, but it is well worth it for the reduction in pixelization.
