aaaaahhhhh! just booked disneyworld honeymooon :D :D :D - October tips please!

Just had to post as I'm sooooooooo excited!!!!!

My fiance and I have ALWAYS wanted to go to disney world and last august we finallly got there for a week to celebrate our 10 year anniversay together.

This year we are getting married on 26th October and couldn't think of anywhere we would like to go for our honeymoon more than disneyworld!
(we're big kids at 25 and 27 haha)

Anyways I'm just soooo excited! We will be there 27th Oct-3rd Nov,has anybody got any tips on what it's like at that time of year?

We went the last week of august last year so the parks were relitively quiet with us not having to queue more than 15 mins for a ride,will october be busy?

Anything special other honeymooners have done they would reccomend?

Will it be warm? Is halloween a big deal? Any tips would be greatfully appreciated!! Thanks everyone!

Congrats on booking your Disneymoon! DH and I celebrated our honeymoon at Disney in October 2011 (10/23-10/30). It is the perfect time of year to go! The weather was great (low 80s during the day, but not humid). The crowds were pretty much non-existent. We were able to walk onto most of the big rides during the week, and on the weekend we had a 10 minute wait or so, which was still really good.

We did Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party twice. It was a ton of fun and I highly recommend you going at least once.

Definitely check out the Food and Wine Festival @ Epcot. There are several food kiosks from different countries around the world, and it's fun to try all that they have to offer. Also, during the food and wine festival different culinary demonstrations go on. They also have the Eat to the Beat Concert Series at night, too (we ended up seeing Boyz II Men).

In terms of romantic things to do, you could do a carriage ride around Port Orleans, eat at Cinderella's Royal Table or the other signature restaurants.

I'm glad it's not busy,I was thinking with it being halloween it might be busier so Im glad we shouldnt have too much queuing to do

I think we're definately going to book dinner at cinderellas castle the food and wine festival sounds really good too so will def have to plan a night there too.

I can't wait,I'm hoping to get some of those mouse ears with the veil and hat for us to wear Roll on october!

Congrats! It is a wonderful time of year. It was warm that time last year. Make sure you hit the good and wine festival. We choose not to make any reservations for that day and eat and drink around the world. If you are not get Hoppers, i recommended going to it during the week...Friday and Saturday evenings the lines are long and it is packed, i would wager a guess some locals show then.

Me and my DF are planning our disneymoon too! We are going later though, we are in winter.

I think you should definitely go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is a hard ticket, so maybe have a resort day or resort hop and go to the party in the evening. It is a lot of fun, especially if you like meeting characters.

Food and Wine is good too.
I would make sure to take it slow and enjoy the moments, maybe get PP+.

Congratulations! You have picked one of the very best weeks to go to Walt Disney World! We are getting Married there on the 1st of November and we picked it because that is when we love to be at Walt Disney World. We go every year around that time for the following reasons:

1) Crowds are low. Maybe parents feel the need to keep their kids home trick or treating? Maybe it is just the natural lul between fall break and thanksgiving? I don't know why, but that by itself is awesome.

2) The Halloween Party! We love dressing up and going to the Magic Kingdom! And acting like big dorks and coming back to the room with a ton of candy we eat the whole rest of the trip. Which is why I suggest you do the Halloween Party early in the trip. The crowds get bad closest to Halloween and on Halloween its really pricey and crowded. I would do it early, or they often do a Halloween party the day after Halloween that we usually go to. We actually are having our friends go with us there after our wedding!

3) The Food and Wine Festival! This is an amazing event, especially for people in your age group without kids. If you get a park hopper, your evenings are taken care of. Or if you want to skip the park hopper, try to avoid scheduling any other meals for your Epcot day. Just go to Epcot and sample delicious food and drinks from around the world. Definitely get a Passport at the Information desk and get a stamp at each booth you eat at. It becomes a good keepsake to take home to commemorate your achievement of gluttony! They also have some pretty descent weekend entertainment. Last year, I got to see Smashmouth, it comes with your park ticket and it was a great show. Check the Food and Wine Festival page a few months before your trip and see if there are any special dinners or events you want to book like dessert parties or celebrity chef events.

4) The Halloween Party at Universal! This is the opposite of the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It IS scary and features a lot of scary mazes where monsters jump out and scare you. While in line you can drink "blood bags" filled with booze served by scary nurses that look like they crawled out of the Silent Hill game, Bill and Ted do a really funny show making fun of the past years Memes and celebrities, and some of the better rides at Universal are also open. Ticket options are a bit confusing, and like Mickey's its way more expensive to go on Halloween and more crowded. If you are going to Universal anyways to visit Harry Potter Land, you can get a discounted ticket to the Halloween Party. If you can afford it, I do recommend getting the VIP pass, because otherwise you won't be able to do all the mazes in one night.

A few Tips:
-Don't forget to book romantic dinners and special events 180 days out. Places like the California Grill book up fast. We love going to the California Grill during the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Fireworks, which leads me to my next tip.
-Check fireworks schedules before you try to book a romantic firework dinner! They can't really tell you when you book through Disney Dining when the fireworks are. So check! We booked a romantic dinner once and were very disappointed there was a Not-So Scary Halloween Party that night and fireworks were 1.5 hours later than normal. Places like WDW Info post this stuff six months out.

You can't go wrong with the week you picked!
