Would the discount on a vacation package to Disney be worth the AAA membership?

Not really. I got ours because we were going to Universal-they take it just about anywhere there-hotels, food, stores. You won't get much of a discount at Disney and you can't combine the discounts on the hotels so if there is a discount rate for the public-you can only pick one or the other. I went to AAA to see how we would make out vs just booking on my own and I figured it wouldn't be worth it for us.

For us it is worth it. We use it for Universal and Disney. I priced out our Disney trip with Dreams Unlimited and told them we were AAA members and also with my AAA agent. We are going in Aug. and have a 2 bedroom at the BWVs (not DVC owners), park hoppers, and dining. The AAA price came in over $800 cheaper than the Dreams Unlimited offer. My AAA agent keeps up on all the discounts out there and so far they are still cheaper. Last year we repriced our trip when free dining came out but because you have to pay full rack rate for the room we were still cheaper with the AAA room discount. AAA will also give you a discount on rental cars.
