What is the average savings/discount on rooms with AAA? Trying to deside if a $50 membership would save me anything.

We just signed up for AAA (spending $90) and it is totally worth it. I think we are saving something like $250 on our trip. Plus the fact that I get a flat tire at least once a year, it was something we REALLY needed. Also, you can look up on Disneyworld.com what your vacation would be, then go walk into any AAA place and have them quote your trip for you without being a member. If you think its worth it, sign up. Also, Jan is Disney month @ AAA, so for every room you book you get a $25 GC to spend at Disney - no, its not much, but its taking half of your membership fee away.
Hope this helped!

I originally booked a room only reservation at YC for next week and was saving $50 a night off of rack rate, or a savings of $200 for four nights. Wound up changing to the package code so that was cancelled, but I am saving ~$25 off one night at All Star Sports for New Years Day. So yes, it is worth the $90 I spend. I already saved about $250 on other accomodations since joining in June.

JMO: in the last three months, I have had a flat tire on the highway, and locked my keys in the car in Las Vegas :rolleyes2

AAA has paid for itself already; any discounts - and there are many more, in addition to travel - are just icing.

Well, we have Polynesian booked in May at the AAA rate and it's saving us $40 a night. I had a reservation for POFQ previously that was saving me $30 a night. So, a week easily makes up the AAA fee. There are also quite a few restaurants around here where you can get 10% or so off with a AAA card - so we even use it when at home. We definitely get enough out of it in a year to justify the fee.

And as another poster said, one roadside issue more than makes up for the fee as well. That's our primary reason for the membership.

I just got quotes from both disney directly and AAA. The AAA price for the exact same package was 500.00 more than booking directly through Disney. AAA has been cheaper in the past. I don't know what happened this time.

Were both companies quoting the same room category?

ETA, oh I see you said package, I'd never book a package through AAA, I think they add on stuff and place more restrictions on your reservation than other TAs.

I have never had AAA come in cheaper on a price. I always do it myself and get the AAA room rate. Do you think different areas, states get quoted different prices with AAA? Just a thought I had?

I had a Disney package booked directly with Disney. 9 nights at AKL, 9 day MYW base ticket, and dining. Came to 4,375.

Called AAA, and got the same package for 4,017.

Kind of a pain though, had to cancel disney reservation, and rebooked new package with AAA. Still waiting for money to come back from Disney. They sort of make this whole procedure somewhat diffucult.

But, real happy dance for saving $350.00, so I'd use AAA again, in a heartbeat.:thumbsup2
