I am beginning to plan next summers vacation already, which is problematic because prices are not out yet. I am looking at a 7 night stay at All Star Movies Resort. An 8 day park ticket with park hopper and water parks and the dining plan. Since I have to get all of this as a package, is AAA the cheapest route to go? Also would it be significantly cheaper to do 6 nights 7 days as this seems to be one of the main package choices? Also, is the dining plan a good idea? Last year we stayed off property so we ate a counter meal for lunch and then ate somewhere outside of the park for dinner. I'm just not sure that we will eat our moneys worth with the dining plan.

I know that AAA saved us over $200 from what the disney web site and our original travel agent quoted us. We like the convenience of the dining plan in that all of our meals are paid for so we don't have to worry about budgeting once we get there and can just enjoy our vacation. If you want to seriously figure if the plan is worth it for you, go to allearsnet.com and look at the menus to see what you may eat and then decide from there. Good Luck with your planning! Have Fun :Pinkbounc !

For us, the dining plan will save us money. Another thing to remember is it covers the tip (except for alcoholic bvgs of course). There's an FAQ sticky on the Restuarant board you might also want to look at.

We just booked our package thru AAA, and saved somewhere around $200. This at least guarantees us the rooms, and if a better deal comes along at some point, we can change the plans up to the 45 day mark. For us, the dining plan will definitely be worth it since we would do a ts meal every day, anyway. I've gotten some suggestions to share meals to make it go even further (this would only work at a non-buffet meal), especially since we're talking a lot of food served for each meal!

If you want an estimate of how much your trip will cost, go to the WDW website and put in the information for your trip, but make it for this year. This will give you a quote for this year, but at least it is a start. You can also try the different length of stays and passes.

As for the dining plan, you said you eat a counter service at the parks and then eat dinner outside the parks. When you eat dinner, is it at a sit down restaurant? Since you are staying on property and you want a table service, the dining plan is definately worth it. We love the plan, especially since you can do character meals on it.

I just book through AAA in january. I save over $100. We will also get a diamond card that gets you discounts in different places throughout the park. I also got the insurance and feel that if for some unknown reason I would have to cancel I would feel better having AAA to back me up in getting my money refunded.
