AAA Triple Diamond Parking Pass?

anyone familar with this parking pass? it is supposed to allow you to park very close to the park entrance to avoid the trans/ busses in the parking lots-supposed to be a very short walking distance to entrance - with the pass.

anyone ever do this or see these designated parking spaces? just wondering if it's worth the $$

Worth the $$? It doesn't actually cost you any extra, it comes with booking a package through AAA. So I wouldn't know how to judge it being "worth the $$".

But it does give you a better parking spot, which is always nice. Just don't expect to be parking right at the park entrance. Its not that great.

These are free from AAA.

You get them when you book a Disney Package through AAA. However, we got one last year from AAA just by asking. This year they wouldn't give us.

From threads on here, it appears your chance of getting a AAA parking pass without booking a package through them depends on the local office and/or the person you speak with.

With that said, the AAA parking is in a good location for EPCOT, AK and MGM and the walk to the entrance gate is short. The MK parking is somewhat far away and requires a walk as no tram services the area.

p.s.

You also get learn where those "other" people are going when you head into the parking lot. We always wondered where they were going.

I have seen some for sale on ebay,
I guess you take your chances there. But my family got one from AAA
and we are leaving on May 16, everyone I spoke with says yes its worth having, especailly with young kids, have fun

We used one a few years ago, and I didnt think that it was all that much closer to the gates. Maybe we only used it at the MK?

we'll be at the parks for 6 days in May. looks like i can pick one up on ebay for about $40 - $60 = that's what i meant by 'worth it'

i've never driven to the parks before. how long (apprx) does it take from when you park to when you get to the gate-normally?
then how long would you estimate it would take to get to the gate with the AAA parking pass?

It's a long walk at the Magic Kingdom. You park beyond the handicap parking, then have to walk under a roadway and back up the other side, to the TTC. It's probably a longer walk that from most parking spaces to the tram.
Keep in mind that whatever you pay for this pass that AAA gives FREE to people booking packages through them is in addition to the cost of parking.

thanks - so in minutes how much time would you say is saved from the car to the gate for each of the parks if using the pass? i understand MK is not great - if at all. what about the other parks? are we talking 5 minutes saved or 15-20??

I would say an average of about 5 minutes saved. To me its not so much of a time saver as a hassel saver. At the end of the day I don't have to run for the tram, just walk to the car.

Forgot to add... I wouldn't pay $40 to $60 for this pass though. Might pay $10, but that is about all.

You might be saving 5 minutes at the other parks, but probably less.
