AAA room only discounts

Roughly how much of a discount is there for AAA members, room only at a value resort during value or regular season? And how far in advance do these discounts get released? How far in advance do you need to book?
I'm trying desperately to figure out a way to get back there next year, since we missed this Happiest Celebration by just days. I also need my Disney fix and the earliest the whole "family" can go is 2007 (when we have DVC points again). Plus due to college schedule I may not even be able to go on that trip. So I'm trying to find another way.

10-20% off rack depending on season and resort class. AAA discounts normally are released mid-summer for the following year. So, AAA discounts for 2006 should be released sometime next month. We have a AAA room only ressie for a standard room at WL the first week of Dec for $167+tx. This is about 16% off rack.

I booked this room November of last year. The standard rooms have been sold out for some time. Book at early as you can.

I just booked two rooms at CBR for December 17-23 at $119 each using the AAA discount. That's about a 20% savings.

We went to our local AAA office today. The AAA TA that I spoke with today said there was no room discount available during that time and quoted me rack rates. She was rude and clueless.

So, I called Disney. I just booked 12/11-12/17 at CSR in a king room for $119/nite which is $30/nite off of rack rates. Maggie

I don't recall any blackout dates. You can book whenever you want. I booked earlier in the year (probably Feb-ish) for my trip in December and had the AAA rate applied right then.

I'm planning a trip the first week of December. I've narrowed it down to WL, AKL, or CR. I just want the standard room. Do you think there's any chance I can get a room with the AAA discount this late? Do you think it's worth getting the AAA membership just to try? We're also planning a trip to DL and Universal (Hollywood) the first week of January, so I think we could use AAA there, too.

I just booked AAA rate 10 minutes ago on my own. Go for it....... I was not asked for my card upfront but had it n my hot little hand ready to recite. Try it and if you can book it , buy the card....

We got a 20% discount for POFQ for Dec. 18th-26th.

I just showed the kids the Disney Planning DVD, they both want to stay at CBR. I really had my heart set on staying at a Deluxe this time, but I couldn't get an AAA discount at WL for standard rate. They did have courtyard view available, but it was $100 less a night to stay at CBR. The WL courtyard view with AAA discount was $216, and CBR was $119. I booked us for CBR 12/9-12/14.

Let's hope some codes come out so we can get more discounts.

I made a AAA reservation for ASMo last week (for the first week of Dec) and did not have a card yet.

They just told me I would need it at check in (I do have it now) but did not ask for a number when I made the reservation. The 20% savings on 2 rooms more than paid for my AAA membership.

2. Also, can you apply an AAA/CAA rate to an existing room only ressie? Or do you have to cancel and rebook??

FYI, AAA room only rates for 2006 are now available through CRO.

If I make a ressie with CRO at rack rate can I later apply an AAA discount to this ressie?

Also, if I have a AAA ressie and a better code rate or something else becomes avail, can I apply those to the AAA ressie?

My husband just called since we are going day before New Years thru the following week. We got a discount on our 4 nights at the GF RPC - AAA - saved us $713.68. And we did not have to jump thru any AP hoops.

We were shocked to save that much! We are SO HAPPY.

suzywindy: do you know whether or not you were able to get an AAA discount for the night of the Dec 31st?? I was told that NO discounts are available for holiday season (Dec 20-31) and had to pay rack rate for that night. Then the rest of my ressie (Jan 1-7) I was able to get a 20% discount.

Wow, thanks! I hadn't realized the 2006 room only discounts were available. And yes, we have always just called and modified our existing reservation by adding AAA discount, and then if a better discount came out, it could be added (but you can't get BOTH AAA and another discount).
