Visiting DW for the first time with family of 5 (3 children). Thinking about August (I know it's hot) but it's the best time with my work schedule. Just got back from AAA.
8 day / 7 night
All Star Music (family 'suite')
Meal Plan
7 day park hopper.
$2800.....is this the best I can do?

Price out everything separately. There are room only discounts as well as free dining promos going on in the end of August. Check out Undercover Tourist for tickets and read up on the YES programs for kids (on the boards.) The ticket prices can't be beat if some or all of your party attends a class. Has to be during an open enrollment period for groups less than 10.)

Sounds pretty fair to me. The only way to compare is ask another agency for a quote (even go to WDW online to price it out yourself) and/or look at all the pieces by themselves and add them to see how it compares.

BTW, we LOVE the Music! Our favorite resort :thumbsup2

How old are your children? Can you do one room instead of the suite? That will decrease the price. Go to the Disney website http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/ and click on Special Offers, price out the Save on Late Spring and Late summer travel and Kids, ages 3 to 9, stay and play free. Those might be cheaper as well. If you let us know the ages of the kids and the exact dates we can better help you.

I would skip on hopper tickets also. Just plan your parks based on Touringplans crowd calendar (or similar). And, it's something you can add at anytime for the same price if you see fit.

Looks like a good deal. I tried the dummy dates of Aug 14-21 with 2 adults and 3 kids (aged 3-9) using the kids stay, play free deal.

For a family suite at ASMusic, 7 day park hoppers and the quick serve dining plan it came to $3145.34.

Using the kids stay/play free you could get a room at a moderate resort - Port Orleans Riverside (sleeps 5 with a trundle bed) with 7 day park hopper and quick serve dining plan for $2832.26.

However, with 3 kids I would skip the park hopper. I too use touringplans.com to select which park I will go to on each day of my trip. I make up an itinerary for what park will go to then make all my dining reservations based upon that as well. I have been able to enjoy my trips with little ones without the added expense/time required for park hopping.
