For those with experience with a good agent -- I have booked a trip through my local AAA in SJ.. Nov 29-Dec10.

Should I check in peridocally to see if there are any better rates?

What sort of services has your agent provided other than the inital booking of the trip?

Thanks

i don't use AAA but another TA and she does all of the following...

--she finds me the best rate, comparing different scenarios and using various discounts that we are eligible for
--she keeps informed of any discounts/reductions in rates and alerts me immediately
--she makes all my ADRs and sends me confirm #s
--she calls all the restaurants where we have ADRs 24-48 hours in advance to remind them of ds' nut allergy
--she sends me my travel docs, including DME tags
--she answers all my questions from the minute i start dreaming of my next trip all the way up to day of departure
--she has called me during a trip to see if all is going okay, and even sent me a goodie basket to my room as a surprise!
