Are there any perks at WDW for AAA members? I know when you purchase your package through AAA, they send along some perks, but that doesn't apply to us. We have APs and use our DVC to stay so don't need to buy any packages.

Is the AAA parking just for people who bought packages through AAA or for anyone who has a AAA membership? Do they still have special viewing areas for parades/nighttime shows? How about store discounts?

Just wondering! :goodvibes Thanks!

I'm curious too.
We are getting AP and staying in a gifted off-site timeshare, but am curious if there are any AAA benefits we can utilize.

According to information received from our local AAA office:

Disney restaurants/shops no longer participate in the % off discount. Universal Studios, however, does...offering 10% off at most restaurants and shops.

Disney does offer % discounts on certain tours at the parks for AAA members.

Parking pass: We bought tickets only from our office, asked for the parking pass and they gave it to us. I don't know the official rules for this; they seem to vary based on who you ask. The pass only allows you a spot(if available) in a closer parking area, not free parking. For what it's worth, this parking area is not "the best" at all parks.

Preferred parade viewing: Recently, AAA started offering preferred parade viewing for the MK afternoon parade. When we called our office to ask, we were told that you must book your entire package (tickets, hotel, dining) through AAA to get this perk.

I also read about a special story-time with a character in MK for AAA members, but I don't recall details or know if it is still available.

I would definitely suggest calling your local AAA office to make sure you don't miss out on anything.

The non-signature restaurants at the S/D offer 20% off food w/AAA :thumbsup2 At least the last I knew, the way offers are being changed these days, best to call and verify first.

The best perks we actually used were the AAA Storytime (once with Alice and once with Snow White). Small group - less than 20 people in a little hidden theater at the back of Exposition Hall. Character reads a Disney-crafted story while the kids sit at her feet and then one-on-one time with each of the kids. Priceless!

We also used the AAA Diamond parking pass after I got angry about the bus wait (2 hours+) from MK to POFQ. The parking at Epcot, in particular, for AAA Diamond is VERY close to the park entrance.

I'm interested in learning about this too. We have never stayed at a disney hotel because we can stay at SOG, but we are thinking about it for Christmas 2011.

Is booking through AAA like going through a TA? I'm not sure that I like the idea of not having complete control over my trip planning. I think that's just as much fun as the trip itself!!

Going through AAA is like going through a travel agent but you still have complete control. We did it and loved it. Our representative was great!

As for perks, there are discounts on restaurants at some locations. I'm looking at my travel book now that arrived 2 weeks ago since we leave in 2 days. These deals are current.

20% off food and nonalcoholic beverages at Garden Grove Cafe and Kimonons at Swan and Dolphin, Fresh Mediterranean Market, Cabana Bar and Grill and bluezoo and Dolphin.

20% off food and nonalcoholic beverages at Outback at Buena Vista Palace

20% off dinner at Traders Island Grill at Best Western Lake Buena Vista

20% off lunch and 10% off dinner on food and nonalcoholic beverages at Fulton's and Portobello's Yacht Club

15% off food and nonalcoholic beverages at Earl of Sandwich and House of Blues

10% off food and nonalcoholic beverages Wolfgang Puck Express, Planet Hollywood, Bongos Cuban Cafe

10% off Funnel Cake carts

15% off Ghirardelli Soda Fountain

The list for recreation starts there with free golf, sea boats, tennis lessons, etc. Then there are discounts on spa treatments, merchandise and tours.

..that there AAA perks only for those who book through AAA. That's it.

When I booked my Keys to the Kingdom tour & Segway tour, I was also told the same thing by the Disney rep. Very sad. I don't know if it's Disney or AAA, but it's hard not to notice the declining customer service. :sad2:

Just used the AAA 20% discount at Picabu at The Dolphin 2 weeks ago.

Used the AAA discount at the Behind the seeds tour in Epcot as well as at Early of Sandwich last October.

I'm still assuming these perks (other than possibly the dining discounts) are only for those who booked through AAA. Is that correct? Please indicate if you got any perks/discounts just for having your AAA card. Thanks! :goodvibes

food at the S/D is for having your individual card to show, not a package.

On my trip in October I did not book with AAA. I booked through Disney and only had to show my AAA card to get discounts.

sorry, yes, Swan/Dolphin or sometimes reffered to as the "Swolphin".

We use the discount at Earl of Sandwich at DTD all the time...we never book a package, just show our card at the checkout.:thumbsup2

I don't think the restrictions pertain to the dining; it is mostly tours and special perks in the parks.

I'm interested in hearing about the storytime perk too. We didn't go thru AAA for our trip package. Thx!

i was just on AAA site and saw where it saves 10 a night at value. Sounds good to me!!!
