AAA Passport Plus Tickets/Magical Extras Booklet

Honestly the lanyard you get is a AAA lanyard. And the Pin is a generic Disneyland pin at a value around $5-6.
The lanyard really isn't of any interest, and the pin would be traded away anyhow. But we'd be paying $15 more per ticket through AAA than through the DL website, so we're trying to "price out" the perks to determine if it would be money well spent. If a pin is included with the Passport Plus Tickets, then we'd really only be paying $10 for the Preferred Seating, before factoring in potential savings with the Diamond Card discount.

On a related note, does anyone know if there a list available for all the store/restaurants at DL that have AAA Diamond Card discounts? I found one for WDW, but not for DL.

With the free parking voucher, is it 1 per ticket or whole package? And is it only good for one day?

Thanks!
I want to say it's 1 per ticket. We have gotten 2 cars parked for free and had a total of 3 adult park hoppers.

You do not have to buy the package to get the free parking just the park tickets. You can either order them over the phone/online/or go to your local AAA office. I have ordered them in the package and w/o the package before and got free parking.

I think what you get with your package might depend on your zipcode. I would go to the AAA website and type in your address and look under travel and Disney Destinations to see what they offer.

Here's what my office offers: http://www.csaa.com/travel/about-aaa-travel/aaa-vacations-disney-destinations

With the packages you can also stay in a Good Neighbor Hotel as well.:)

I also have got the lanyard with Pin and it is a AAA pin & Lanyard. I didn't care cuz I was just gonna trade it anyway:thumbsup2

AAA usually has the same promo tickets as Disney's site. Maybe they aren't uploaded yet? We've always gotten the same discounts (5 for 3, etc) through AAA.

I got mine by ordering the tickets separately through AAA. It is the passport plus ticket and the price I paid for the tickets was less than what I saw on the DL website. The adult 4 day PH was $201 and the child's 4 day PH was $178. I pulled out my diamond card -- so, here is a list of discounts:

20% off select DL park tours
10% off $20 purchase at Marceline's Confectionary
10% off photopass prints purchased before 3pm at Greetings from CA or Main Street Photo Supply Co.
10% off single purchase of $75 or more on select items at World of Disney
10% off food only at Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar

Thank you so much for the info! That helps a lot with our planning.

How do you order the tickets on the AAA site? I can find pricing information and package information, but the "purchase tickets" link I get only gives me WDW ticket options. I don't see anywhere to actually order DLR tickets through AAA on their site!

Of course, the DLR site AAA throws me over to also says that it's the "Year of a Million Dreams" - which has me a little worried... :rotfl:

Thanks so much! We just need the tickets, really plus the free parking. We're going to upgrade the tickets to APs once we get there, but will want free parking our first and last day.

I want to say it's 1 per ticket. We have gotten 2 cars parked for free and had a total of 3 adult park hoppers.

I called my local AAA office to order, they put in the order through WDTC which mailed the tickets to my local office and I picked them up. You need to order about 10 days in advance. I don't know whether they will take orders from outside the area (if your local office doesn't have it) but it might be worth a try. If anyone needs the info on the person I talked to, just let me know.

We bought these for our upcoming trip. You get free parking at the Mickey and Friends parking structure and then there is a little booklet that comes with each ticket that includes:
- AAA Diamond Card good for discounts at many restaurants and stores in DTD and the parks
- A voucher for a collectible pin and lanyard
- Preferred Seating to Aladdin Muppet Vision 3D, It's Tough To Be A Bug, and Anamation Academy
- Voucher for free transportation to South Coast Plaza
- Entry for Mickey's Toon Town Morning Madness

We paid $186 each for our three day park hoppers and we thought this was a great deal. If you plan on driving, then the free parking is a big added bonus!
AAA New England had no clue what I was talking about (despite it being in the brochure they were handing out). Do you think I could call up your AAA and order it?

I live in New England also, and I've bought Passport Plus Tickets from my local AAA Travel Agent on three separate occasions since 2004. Every time, they have no idea what I'm talking about (they don't sell many of them out here, lol). I have to point it out to them in the AAA booklet about Disneyland, they have to call Walt Disney Travel Company to order it, then I'm on my way.

You do have to get them from the AAA Travel Agent desk, not the member services counter. Sometimes the travel agent tells me to go to the member services counter because they think that is where they sell tickets. I have to explain to them that even though it is basically just tickets, not a hotel stay, that Disney sells it as a "package" like any other package through the WDTC. It's a "ticket only package," something that the travel agents seldom deal with.

Be persistant, and ask the AAA travel agent to call WDTC if they insist they don't sell it because they will find out that they do. I go through this every time, but it always works out. I hope I've been helpful and encouraging.

They are still for sale at WDTC in DTD if you ask. I agree they aren't worth $10 a person.

Can non-AAA members purchase the Magic Extra booklet for $10 from DTD?
Does it include the Diamond discount card or only the vouchers for preferred seating at shows such as Aladdin and 3D Muppets?

Thanks for the info!

Can anyone verify that the magical extras/passport plus booklet is still available for purchase in DTD?

I picked up two booklets from WDTC in DTD on Friday, 3/9. I cannot vouch for the price, as the gentleman at the desk would not let me pay for them, which was a lovely bit of Disney magic. :goodvibes But they are there! I only received the booklet, no Diamond discount card.

Good to know they are still there. Can anyone help with the price?

Our local AAA office explained that if we want the Passport Plus option we would order the PP tickets ahead of time with a $200 deposit and a $13 shipping fee, and the tickets have to be paid if full 45 days before departure. You do not need to be a member to order the Passport Plus tickets. This AAA office also carries 3 and 5-day park hopper tickets for members which are about $12 less than the Passport Plus tickets, however they eventually run out of these in-office tickets, possibly before summer.

They also said the Passport Plus package does NOT come with the vouchers for Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness. We do not need the free parking, which is a great perk, so I'm not sure this Passport Plus package is worth it for us. I need 5 PH's, so I've calculated that it would be $72.50 (including the $13 shipping fee) to order the Passport Plus option instead of the in-office 5-day PH's. We like the AAA diamond discount card and would use the free kids meals at the Rainforest Cafe, plus some other discounts. We do like the preferred seating for the shows as well. I'd also like the trading pin and lanyard. I would do it if we got the MTTMM vouchers, but if we don't then I'm not sure it's worth it for us.

Can someone update the Passort Plus benefits for March? Has it only been recently that they took away the vouchers for MTTMM?

TIA!

Did your AAA office have a Disneyland AAA Vacation brochure? The one I got last summer was about 9" x 11" and 23 pages. It spelled out all the benefits of the packages (including the MTTMM). The only thing the the brochure got wrong was that they gave us a pin and lanyard, which wasn't in the list of benefits. How did it come out to $72.50 more, if you don't mind my asking? We were charged the fee if $13, too, but I'm wondering what would make it $59.50 more.

Thanks!

By the way, they had the brochures in the office, I got it from the travel agent who ordered the tickets, not the counter. Maybe you have to be a AAA member to get it?

TIA!

I paid in full for my passport plus package back in January (and added on a character breakfast so it would be one less expense when trip time comes, plus the vouchers you get when you prepay include tax and tip)

I received my documents the about 110-14 days ago.

I DO have MTTMM vouchers in mine! I was very happily surprised to see this!
