Can someone fill me in on the AAA parking tag? Does that mean that the parking is free? Or just closer to the park?

If you have used this area in the past, is it worth going out of your way to buy AAA tickets to get the tag?

Thanks! :)

What a great question! I was just asking my DW about that this week.

I'd also like to know some good inside info on this.

Thanks!

I'm also wondering if you buy enough tickets, will they issue enough car hangers for all of us (we will have 3 vehicles...)? Anyone know??

I bought annual passes for all of our employees. We got one for each pass. It allows you to essentially park at the tram end of the row so you are VERY near your car when you are the most tired :D

I've heard all kinds of other stories, and area available. But this is first hand from at least 8 of us.

Usually you get the Diamond Parking Pass when you buy a package from AAA. Sometimes if you buy tickets and ask they will give you one. At MK you park in the handicap parking lot area. At AK they let you park at the end of the lane so you don't have to walk as far. Epcot you park very close. The parking lot we parked at was at the far left of the entrance where you buy tickets. MGM we were in walking distance to the entrance. If you do get the pass make sure you ask where to park when you pay. Also there are some black out dates.

To answer the part that was not exactly answered, the AAA parking pass doesn't give you free parking, just a different area of the parking lot to park in.
Different AAA offices seem to handle giving it out differntly. Some only give it out to people purchasing entire packages from AAA (and only give one pass per package). Others will give it out with purchase of tickets, but how many and what kind seem to vary.
Somebody posted the blackout dates a while ago.
If you have an AP or are staying at a WDW resort, you will have free parking.

AAA Customer Service states that the policy is to give the parking pass with the purchase of a package or tickets, but not for a room only booking. I have found the application of the policy to be very subjective and frustrating.

After all the pleading I had to make to get a pass, I hope the parking spot is worth it:-)

We have used the Diamond parking before and were very pleased with how convenient it was in most cases. Occasionally, they would all be filled though. I think there worth the effort.

We've found that it's been hit or miss even being able to use the Diamond lots. If you try to get there later in the day they will usually be full and you'll be out in the nether regions with everyone else. I think only once or twice we've been able to actually make use of the pass.
