AAA parking section

I would like to know what you need to park in the AAA section of the parking lots, can you just show your member card or do you book a package with them and get a special voucher.

You do need a special voucher.
Most locations give them out when you purchase a package thru them; we got ours by purchasing a park hopper at our local AAA.

Are these AAA lots preferable to other lots? We are using a car for the first time on our next trip and we have AA and buy our PHs there.

Not preferable in MK. Better in Epcot and AK, and at MGM they're good if the construction is done near the entrance in those lots. Otherwise do normal parking there too. At MK you park behind the handicapped section, and with no tram it's a bit of a walk, compared to what you'd think. Epcot it's off to the far left of the entrance, but you get the first couple rows, so you're still really close. AK is just really close too.
