AAA Parking Pass

This will be our first off site visit.
I have been reading about a AAA parking pass that gives you preferred parking at the 4 parks.
Any insight from anyone if it is worth it. I can get one for about $15 from a friend who says she got it - but never used it.

Your "friend" is going to charge you $15 for something she got for free? Your call I guess. The AAA parking is/used to be located next to the handicapped parking area in the 4 parks. It's been a couple years since I used it so not sure if the location is still the same. It's close but still a walk. Not sure if I'd pay for that. If you get to the parks at opening you're almost as close & it didn't cost you $15.

The only reason I would get it is if you have a stroller b/c they are a pain to load on and off the tram. Also if you leave at closing you won't have to wait for the tram.

If you go in heavy crowds - there is a good possibility it would be full and then they would make you park somewhere else anyway. We have also gotten there early in the morning and then they make us park where everyone else is b/c it is just as close.

I agree it is pretty stinky of your friend to charge you to use it when she got it for free.

Do realize that the AAA Diamond parking pass doesn't give you free parking. You still have to pay the $12 to park. Just gives you closer parking if available. It wouldn't be something I would pay money for.

Forgetting that one of the conditions of the AAA Diamond Parking Pass is that it's nontransferable... gotta agree with the posters who question the the motivation of the 'friend'. If that person got it directly from AAA, they didn't pay for it; if they paid for it from some other source, that's their mistake. You shouldn't be subsidizing it.

We just picked up our documents for our package from AAA and got the diamond parking pass. Be careful if you are trying to use someone elses pass since our pass is dated!!! It says right on it that it is only valid for the dates of our trip and the dates are clearly listed on the front of the pass. I have read on previous posts here that they are cracking down on the passes since so many were abusing the benefit for booking through AAA. The dates on the passes are new since we had one last year and there were no dates listed it just said valid for the year.

I just bought one on ebay for $3.00 So if the friend is charging you $15 and you really want one check out ebay.

Be careful the passes are dated with your names on it and they do check the pass.

I have one and it does not have my name on it. The CM's do check them but but I've never had them take it and check my name.

Being offsite you still have to pay for daily parking. The pass only lets you park closer once you've paid.

It's not worth paying 15.00 for it.

According to AAA....'diamond parking passes are not for sale and not transferable'..period. They are a perk you get when booking through AAA. It is not legal to get them in any other manner.
It is against DIS board guidelines to suggest ways to circumvent stated company policies. So this thread is done.
